I'm not sure if you got all the possible options but I put them out in shelves. I don't have much space for dioramas but I do have a couple of very small ones that are already occupied. However, I did put the Berlin soldiers that I have with a burnt out building that I have but generally I like to put them on the shelves. As I run out of room, I may have to rotate but I'm not there yet (will be soon though).

I'm a big fan of small dioramas....12x24 fit so nice on a bookshelf and look great with the soliders.

I have to admit that I have such a large collection that I have to really try hard to find space to display them. One of the things my wife lets me get away with is some small shelves that will display 6-8 soldiers around the house. Right now I have a room that we call the "manly man" room/office where my main display is on a shelf that runs along two walls on which I have nearly all of the Britains Dehli Durbar set and a small shelf on which I have displayed 13 different mounted soldiers ranging from an antique Britains Irish Lancer To an Imperial Austrailian Camel Corps figure that I aquired in 95 while in Sydney. I am also working on a display that I hope to put together for the Holidays based on some of the really interesting Christmas themed sets from Britains and Trophy Minitures of Wales, Errol John and Imperial. This would of course be displayed only at Christmas and then put up. Because as all have noted before space can be a problem.

Curiously, I've just posted on storage problems. Space is really a main factor on what you do with your soldiers. Right now I have my items mostly stored while planning to get space and furniture to display them ( behind glass, for sure ). But I do have the K&C Iwo Jima flag raising set and a Britains Deetail German motorcycle with side car on shelves on a cupboard in the living room, just in front of some books. I think they look acceptable and so does my wife, for now...
P.S.
I'm very happy to find out that rotation is an idea others share. Maybe it's feasible...
Bye,
Paulo

I'm kind of in between answers. The King and Country and a lot of other stuff is in boxes waiting to be made into dioramas or "scenes", while some 21C/FoV/Airfix 1/32 GIs are in my display case along with my one shelf of 1:18 21C stuff. I keep fantasizing about a nice venue to display all of them in. I was hoping for the local National Guard museum, but they haven't been interested. Maybe the local VFW - but then I have to put up the money for a LOCKED case. Maybe someday.

I must say this poll seems very odd. The percentages don't add up to 100%. Am I missing something?

You can set up polls that allow for multiple sections; it's not just one choice or the other but more than one. That's why it probably seems strange.

Wargame. From small unit WW2 actions to all out large scale horse and musket battles. You asked!
FUBAR :D

I voted the option nearest to what i do.I have three large cabinets for vehicles and figures, and have them on display all together in my office upstairs.I have a cabinet for all vehicles and a cabinet each for allied and axis troops.

Pete

Does sell them count LOL:D

Actually Dioramas!

Tony

Don't think of it as selling them...think of it as providing a service to the fine people of the UK.

Ah, the joy we dealers get to bring to people's lives (at least until their monthly credit cards come due... )

Peter, perhaps you could explain that one to my wife!.She might believe it coming from you instead of me!!

Rob

Peter,

I've only been collecting for 2 years and I only collect Napoleonics. I must admit I have never had them on display. When I started buying them, I didn't think I would get that many of them and so I never considered the space needed to display Napoleonics in largish formations. So mine remain stored away until I win the lottery and can build a west wing on to the mansion I haven't got yet :)

Do any of the other Napoleonic collectors actually display their whole collection? I haven't seen too many photos of the K&C Naps in any large numbers..

Kiwi

Hi Kiwi.

I collect K&C Napoleonics and mine are displayed in a cabinet.

I have attached a photo or two as a small sample of my collection.

Regards

Jeff

Kiwi - I think sceic2 posted some amazing Napoleonic images a while back. Anyone know where to retreive them?

I'd love to look myself, but since I'm a pastor, and it's Holy Week, I have a wee bit to do right now...

I'll see if HRH Shannon has a minute to look into it...

Pete,

I did a quick search and couldn't find anything. Didn't we lose some photos in the conversion switch?

I actually saved these, so here they are
