Hi Guys,

Re Ludwig’s comment about me reviewing some of the latest threads, commenting and responding…

Well my friend I do come on the Forum reasonably regularly and reply, respond and comment when and if I’ve got something to say.

But, I’ve also got a whole big heap of work to do that keeps my nose to the proverbial grindstone most of my waking hours on a fairly regular basis.

As more than a few contributors to this Forum know I also correspond with many of them on a private basis through emails and phone calls.

In addition I’ve learned the hard lesson that my thoughts and my views do not always meet with the approval and or delight of all concerned.

So, as I said, if I’ve got something to say which I hope will be interesting, informative and reasonably intelligent then I’ll pipe up…If not… I’ll pipe down!

In the meantime… have fun, best wishes and… happy collecting to one and all.

Well I welcome the reply from Andi on the fw 190-D and look forward to getting it soon . For me the item of the year so far is the Humber armoured car and keep the British and Commwealth ETO stuff coming {bravo}}

In all fairness King&Country puts out a lot more new releases every month than the other companies. I collect WWII
Matte from a total of 4 different brands, and to be quite honest K&C puts out month after month just as much if not more than the other 3 combined. Some have voiced opinions about retirements every month but something has to go to make room for all of the new releases that we all seem to desire and ask for........:wink2:

In fairness Andy posts on this forum more than any other producer.

Since this is also the most active part of the forum it would be very time consuming to be involved in posting in multiple threads.

Hello Andy:

Thank you for your comments noted above. I guess you can not post comments at the Forum for only some of the members' photos regarding their K&C dioramas without offending the others who you do not comment on. As you say, you can not please everyone!

Cheers! "Iron Brigade" / Gary

The man has spoken!!

Well hopefully you can pipe UP about some of our posts and displays that have more then reasonable intelligence.

As in....did you like my 1918 trench display? Martin sure did.

How about mine and Iron Brigades HK displays of the new Dragon Boat and Wedding set? Not worth a reply?

Myself, I am not into the private message gig unless it is answering someones request or forum related items. I post on the forum.

However since you speak of private messages....I got one from MapleLeaf stating he has bought the Dragon Boat after seeing mine and Iron Brigades as well as the dimensions I provided him by request. That should be worth a stand of pipes!!

Now as you say there is a lot of work to do. You betcha! Get back in there and make us some more great soldiers.

In closing, how about having Martin get more involved in the forum? He would be great. His posts are enjoyable, he has started posting his collection. There's an idea....I have long heard that you also collect and have like Figarti figures etc...

I think we all would like to see some of your personal collection posted. Myself, early early KC sets would be great to see as well.

Have a great day and thanks for your post,

Ludwig

It is almost as if Andy were a public political figure. Every action, move or comment is scrutinzed by others. The more he makes , the more people want. I too have been
guilty of voicing my own personal wants here too ! I think it is a big positive that the brand can listen to collectors desires and wishes and come through and accomodate
"most" of them in due time !!!Another indicator of the brands large volume of output.I think in the last year I sent Andy a PM 4 times and each time received a reply within a day.

Not bad at all .........IMO {bravo}} Cheers Friends !

PA, I do not do PM's much at all, but I will have to do you one on this...

Stop kissing......the rest will be on the PM

Andy I always enjoy your participation on Treefrog. Its always great to get your insight into what's going on in our toy soldier world, and hey, if you set off a few landmines or hurl a few grenades you're welcome to take cover in my foxhole, its deep enough to protect us both! {sm4}

Ludwig,
If as you say Andy did post in the three threads you mentioned above what happens when you and others want to "chat" in that thread and seek further responses from him ? Then what about the many other threads where people post their displays (there are now 59 threads in the dio section alone in 6 weeks). For example how do you compare a thread where somebody like Rob has posted an image of his display of many tanks on one bookcase (impressive in itself, so I am not knocking it) to say Waynepoo or Jack doing a thread with a vehicle/plane and three figures with a dio base and a backdrop ? Would a "nice dio" do or would he need to say more in response.

If Andy was to get involved in such threads then he would significantly increase the amount of time he would have to spend on the forum and as you say you want him to "Get back in there and make us some more great soldiers". Or perhaps he should be booking his flight to the London show because you may be going there. In all these areas Andy is doing far more than any other producer.

You may also wish to note the number of posts (or lack of them as the case may be) by other producers praising their collectors dio threads (or even just their number of posts). In all cases it should not be taken as a negative towards any of their collectors displays. I am pretty sure they see them.

You have twice mentioned Martin when commenting upon Andy's lack of posting in response to you. I do not know Martin's job description and role but am sure he is good at it. However I suspect Andy has a few more things to do in running K&C than Martin may have in working at Kings X.

I am pretty sure it is not the case that yours and others dios are not worthy of reply but that the time involved is simply too much.

Just my opinion and thoughts.

Regards
Brett

I'm amazed Andy finds the time to answer all the pm's etc, he never fails to answer mine within 24hrs, god knows he must get fed up with me asking/suggesting stuff all the time........now Andy, about those Horsa Glider sections?????:wink2:

I have a very challenging and demanding job. I work long hours,I'm on-call when I'm not working.I see the best and worst in people everyday. I come home to a wife and 4 small children everyday thank god. Home life is busier than work it seems. I guarantee I do not earn the wages that Andy makes. Yet I still make time to volunteer in my community and local hospital and coach little league. I don't think that answering a few customers questions or writing "nice dio" once in a while seems like a very difficult thing to do considering that its reaching out to your own customers that purchase, purchased,or will be purchasing your merchandise. its just part of customer service and being polite in showing appreciation. So you don't have to dance so fast, just be a good dancer.

Wow...I had to log in to answer this one. WELL SAID.
Hand salute to you Sir.
I completely agree. I also have a MAJORLY challenging and long hours full-time business. Two small businesses and my wife one. Three adult children and two grand children that need me more then I want but that is good. Church on Sunday and volunteer activities...and yes I find the time to compliment my people and certainly MY CLIENTS that make all of this possible for me. That certainty includes the man upstairs most of all. The members on this forum do more then we will ever know to sell this product. I think compliments on a regular basis to different members post is not asking much at all. What would 30 minutes of time a day hurt to go on the Frog and post here in there? I do it to help sell the product and keep the Hobby Alive. If Andy as the owner is too busy he could certainly appoint someone else in his organization to fulfill the task. I have suggested Martin. He has the knowledge and is a collector.
Yes, I love your final remarks, you need to be a good dancer..................

In closing: I will state my mind. I will say I like it if I like it and I do not like it if I do not. I do not need private messages, I share on the forum. I feel a little unappreciated for the time and posts and MASSIVE money I spend that give this product exposure and keep it alive. It would just be nice to feel appreciated. It seems only those that post positive about anything and every little thing KC does get that privilege.

No offense to anyone...this is how I feel.

Now that I have that off my chest........HOW ABOUT GERMANY IN THE FINALS!!!!!!!!!!!! KC do some soccer figures......hey, what an idea!! How about a sport's line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I received some nice things in today's post!!!! Keep your eyes open later!

The dancing metaphor is very entertaining...makes for an interesting thread!

It might, however, be more accurately viewed as a progressive dance during which Andy would be expected to dance with everyone for the same amount of time. Easy to have some quality time with one partner when you can both leave the dance floor together, but much harder when one of you has to stay until every potential partner has had their chance.

Ludwig, My children serve as altar servers in a town about 20 miles from where we live every Sunday plus all other Masses. The church and the Knights of Columbus recently presented them with awards as altar servers of the year. It was unexpected and I will tell you that it meant the world to them and their parents just knowing that they were appreciated by others for what they do. When I was younger I wrote a US president a letter and he wrote back. I can clearly see now that the letter was a general pre-typed thank you signed I'm sure by a secretary but for years I thought it was the best thing I owned. My point is that being appreciated or being acknowledged once in awhile can go a long way. Like you I call them how I see them and if a product looks bad,I voice it. For that reason I will never be on the appreciated list. And I agree with you for a sports line. Baseball was the big sport during ww2 and I always though that a release of soldiers playing ball would be good, like the end scene from Band of Brothers. Semper Fi, Keith

I guess this might come back to the cloning idea Jack as the dance floor is very big and Andy has to dance with lots and lots of people!

I need to correct myself - that should read 'length of time' rather than 'amount'!

WOW what a reply. Simmo.{sm2}

Ludwig,
A point you should also consider is that Andy also receives multiple messages from other collectors who are not on this forum. I know from my own customers (who are not on this forum) quite a few have written to him directly and received personal replies. I frequently forward suggestions and comments to him and then send on his replies to the collector.

Incidentally did you have the chance to speak to Andy at the recent Texas show ?

Regards
Brett
