K&C's gallery of aircraft (1 Viewer)

We have all seen the pics of the wooden B-17's, B24's, etc in which maybe 3-5 copies were produced. I was wondering how feasable the cost would be if the average
motivated collector would be able to obtain these type of aircraft done in polystone. For me a B-17 or JU-88 in 1/30 scale would be feasable to buy if costs were under $600.00 per plane. Is this scenario highly unlikely ?

Not sure if its feasible to make them PA but probably not feasible for me to afford them:redface2: . I must say I was in awe of the wooden warbirds, but when the Poly's came along I was so chuffd with them that I don't really think about them now. Now I know I will be swooped upon by the wooden owners for saying this but the poly's are so good that I don't feel the need to buy a wooden one. Just my opinion and no offence meant to collectors of the wooden variety , wooden planes I mean, not wooden collectors of course!^&grin

I have just the Hurricane and Spitfire and a few figures (scenic items from JG Miniatures) It's all Rob's fault! :rolleyes2: ^&grin

Jeff

Nice scene Jeff, what a cracking pair of aircraft{bravo}} Happy to be a bad influence^&grin On a totally non related subject, you should now get the Typhoon mate, superb release:wink2:

You're right, about getting swooped down that is. I have both the wooden warbirds and the ploys and there is no comparison. How could there be, with one hand crafted from wood? The woodens are a museum quality kind of collectible. The ploys are nice but just not in the same league.

Just my opinion Brad, having seen some wooden warbirds yes they are superb and would never say a bad word about them, but for me the Poly's are spot on ,just love the realistic finish on them. As I say just my opinion.

I think the B 17 is in the $2,500 range. It could not be made in polystone because of the weight. Several years ago Figarti made some B 17s in polyurethane (same material they use now, I believe) for approximately $900 (quite the bargain).

Rob and Jazz,

This is a beautiful piece. Rob..you are right....if I brought this home Mrs. Ludwig would chase me out with a broom..divorce me and switch me out for a young man.:( I do not think the price is too high considering the work and detail however.

Sure nice!! Rob are you getting one?

I wish Ludwig, but price is out of my price range , plus space is an issue right now.
