New arrivals for my IC collection. They are very nice. What do you think?

Very nice acquisitions to your IC collection.

Just an aside ... I wonder what the troopers used to fire at ? The "gun" is so bulky that any potential target would easily have got under cover before one can fire. Possibly used to scare cavalry {sm3}

Thanks for your reply. The Matchlock in these days or Arquebus was so heavy and bulky. It many times killed the man or men firing it. It was a terror weapon made to scare the pants off the enemy so they could be routed until it was perfected over the years. Then it did much killing. However fired only once or twice before conventional bladed weapons had to be re-deployed. It quickly changed and became the short lived wheel lock and then flint lock. All predecessors of the cartridge rifles.

I actually own a Old Matchlock and here is a few pictures.

Hope you like it. I am tired. The fuse in mine is actually a piece of cord just for looks. This piece fires about a 120 cal ball. Devastating if it actually hit a person.

Ludwig, So when are you going to invite me over to view all of your goodies and sip on some tea and eat crumpets ???I know all about the "Hill Country"

Wrapped that IC is one of your series also, will follow your threads on this subject with pleasure, thank you for sharing, cheers, Robin.

Of all the series that I "don't collect", these are the ones that I wish I had started a while back. I love the colorful figures, the mystery of the orient and the unique poses, such as these guys with the Matchlock or Arquebus. Very nice.

I pity the poor guy who is holding is ears, holding up the business end of the Matchlock. He probably couldn’t hear a thing for a week.

Here is a conversation between the shooter and the holder after a battle:

Shooter: Hey, Wong, I tired, let’s get a “drink”.
Holder: You say I “stink”! You try holding this up for two hour and all that smelly powder. Then you see.
Shooter: No, No, I say I want to grab some “water”
Holder: WHAT? You want to grab my “daughter”. Old wife you can have but NO daughter.
Shooter: You crazy, I am going back to “sit” in tent.
Holder: You are going to do “what” in my tent. ………….

Okay, okay ... its been a long week. -- Larry

Perhaps its too late to go back for all the earlier K&C IC releases ... but you may still make a modest start with the new "3 Kingdoms" sub-range. The 3 kingdoms covers the period from @ 220-280AD .. and differs from the Qing Emperor Qian Long of the 1700s ...

Only 2 earlier 3 Kingdoms figures have been released IC036 & 037, which are still in circulation ... with IC043 to 045 joining the line up this JUL. A couple of new 3 Kingdoms infantry has also been recently previewed.

Thank you all for your nice replies. The IC and HK line for that matter are just great. I have about half or so of the IC line. They are so well done that for those that do not have any...take a close look....and you to....will be hooked!!

Some day I will do a great diorama of an encampment is what is on my mind.

Anyway post pictures of your IC and HK's anyone.

PA, You can count on this....one day I will have you over to my house on the Gulf and instead of tea and crumpets which I do like we will be having Beers and Ribeye's. One of Ludwig's undisputed talents on at least 4 continents is a master of the BBQ, competitor too. I shall maybe.....if you are really nice...make you my Pecan Smoked Pork Spare Ribs...awards winning I might add.....and....to die for mate. Also; as I do spend much time in the hill country I have learned quite a bit about it too. Like it is where I believe Pancho Villa and also Zapata hid out and stashed their loot!!! I have not found any yet.

Are these IC soldiers not great. I am surprised no one has noticed what is missing on them.

LoL ... The way you play with toy soldiers, I would have thought you have found Pancho's stash. {sm4}

... And yes the IC range is great, interesting poses and very colorful. Wished I had started on them earlier.
