What do you collect?

I decided to answer this based on which lines I currently have collected multiple figures (Napoleonic, ACW, American Revolution), and not lines where I have picked up one or two figures (pretty much every other 1st Legion Line). I concentrate my collection on a few specific genres (US Armed Forces, UK Armed Forces, ACW, Waterloo), but try to pick up representative figures that represent the best and most interesting of any era.
 
So far the big 4 Naps , WW2 , AWI and Rome
Samurai has it's own circle
New lines will get stronger with releases
I think ACW would do better with artillery and cavalry
AWI with cavalry and artillery would be right in Naps but
and giving WW2 a good ride
I'm still waiting for Blucher
Where in the hell is he ??
 
I am firmly entrenched in the Roman line. Nothing will ever sway that. Personallly, I would like to see the legions swing east for a spell but it's all good.

I am teetering on the edge of grabbing some Continentals and Takeda mounted samurai. The Nam figure s sharp, I just want to see where they shake out pricewise and where I could display them. Personally, I would like to see Nam 1st Cav but thats just me.

I will be buying the Normandy releases too. Am all too thrilled that I may be selling off another company thats in my collection to obtain those figures.

Interesting (as far as First Legion collectors on this forum) my WWII made a strong comeback after the Naps took a big early lead, but then again polls are just a shot in the dark, even though I started the thing:)... but glad to see alot of interest in most all the ranges...Sammy
 
Its good to see that the Roman line has a good following. I wonder if the Roman line would be able to over take WWII or NAPS if it had as much to choose from.

I think that is a good possibility. What is really interesting is how close the numbers are among the top four ranges. The Naps and WWII ranges should be on top, since they have many more releases to choose from. Yet, neither of these hold a huge lead over the third and fourth place lines, those being the AWI and Rome. Being an AWI fan, I am encouraged that they are so many AWI collectors, even though that range only has two releases thus far. Same can be said for the Glory of Rome range, since it too, only has two releases. Not a huge deal, just an interesting thing to note in my opinion.

As much as I'd like to think so, I dont think Rome can stand toe to toe with WW2. I do think ROME can hold it's ground against the Naps though (in terms of popularity).
 
AWI for me!

Of the four or maybe five major vendors and a dozen minor vendors that market AWI sets, FL has to be some of the nicest.

Because of the length of time that K&C has been offering the AWI sets, I have accumulated a large collection of those, but the FL sets are building up. They are not 100% compatible with KC but they can be used in the same diorama if care to perspective and distance is considered. However, I have them displayed as FL designed them … a Lexington Concord / Bunker Hill diorama. -- Larry
 
All these lines are well done and just keep getting better IMO , but it all takes time and I don' t think there is anyone else who has done so much in so little time as FL and its about to get bigger & better .. Regards Gebhard

AWI is definitely a strong contender as well. It will be really interesting to see these lines develop. I don't have any AWI yet but I plan on picking up some of the British 22nd in Chicago. From what I have seen they appeared to be quite active so it will open many doors for display options.

I hope the 22nd Foot is released before you go to the Chicago show! I can't really wait any longer.:wink2: The 22nd was most active in the early years, especially in the major campaigns you outline. After they went to Rhode Island in 1778, the line companies at least, pretty much stayed there. Still, I think you are right, they could be used for a number of display ideas.

Well now, I see my WWII has pulled even with the Nap range:) hmmm, getting very interesting on this poll, alot of votes throughout for most all ranges, thanks to all that have voted...Sammy

I heard a rumor he along with Gneisenau were held up by some mounted Samurais {sm2} . I'm sure with ya though it seems years I have been asking that question :wink2: .. Regards Gebhard

Seems to be.I didn't vote as I don't collect any yet but if I had to pick one it would probably be Rome or the Crusades.
