Ya' for these pics I am showing all the same figure in groups. At the end I have a "LARGE" battle diorama set up so they look a bit more natural, rather than a dance line!! {sm4}

I have three goals.

FIRST to show all the other AWI collectors (and actually any TS collector interested) the sets in detail, especially the older AR and BR releases that many collectors have never seen in a diorama setting. Hopefully you guys will enjoy seeing them as well as the current releases.

SECOND, I want to try my hand at developing dioramas and scene construction. I have a long way to go to equal the superb work display by Cornwallis, REVWARBUFF (Mark), OD, RISORGIMENTO (Carlo), DesertKiwi (Toddy), Big Denny (Mike), pworbagiper (Brendon) and other collectors

LASTLY, I want to learn how to photograph the scenes to best display them on the Forum for all to enjoy and talk about.
With that in mind, please feel free to let me know what I can do to improve the dioramas and photos.

Although the thread is titles “Larry’s K&C AWI collection”, if you have any K&C AWI sets, ADD them in for all to enjoy.

Larry, I have spent the last hour scrolling and drooling all over this thread. Fantastic hard work on your part and I and other TF members thank you for sharing. If I may, I will just add the following ...

Your objective # 1 ... I have never seen the earlier AWI releases up close before. Thanks to you now I can say that these figures are just as good as the latest fusiliers release. I particularly like that these earlier figures are less "portly" and look more soldier like. The French uniforms and flag look great.

Objective # 2 ... Your dio making skills is already highly accomplished. When you have the time, I would be grateful if you can share with us the details of the items you have used. For instance, I recognize the K&C farmhouse facade, the stonewalls, trees and carts used. Did you make any of the items used ?

# 3 ... Photography is certainly better than mine. The various light levels are good as well as the close up shots of the figures.

So looking forward to seeing the rest of your collection ... And then the ultimate battlefield laid out :).

Hi Larry,

I wasn't expecting to see any of your collection until next weekend, so it was a pleasant surprise when I logged in this morning and saw this thread! ^&grin

It really has been a long time coming to start seeing your collection Larry but it has been worth the wait, some fantastic sets of figures and equally impressive dioramas that you have set up. I didn't realise you had such a fine collection of scenics as well, I can see K&C, JG Miniatures and Build-a-Rama amongst others that I don't recognise. Some of those JG sets are some of the bigger more expensive ones and you have quite a few there I see.

It is such a breath of fresh air on this forum to see some AWI displays appearing on the forum recently and especially some of the older sets that you can get to see and appreciate instead of just from old stock photos.

This may just be the start of your collection but you are well on the road to earning the title of 'Sir' Larry Allen!:salute::

Thanks for sharing and cannot wait to start seeing the Redcoats! ^&grin

I have done a bit of reading this afternoon...so let me get this straight...it was all about tax dodgers, was it?
 
Love the displays and thanks for the pictures! Just one question- why do you have many multiples of command pieces like the flag bearer, officer, and sergeant?

Thank You Tom, I am happy that I coul dgive you a nice present to start the day. Ya' ... a long time coming but time and space was always an issue and now that is gone. I have many more of the French to show and then on to the BATTLE SCENE which I just did this AM. I hope you will like that one. I will try to post more pics today.

I have been collecting a lot of JG / Britains / H&A / K&C AND many more that I made myself. I will show you my BRIDGE dio later. That is my goal to make a BIG dio with the whole collection. This the beginning and a long way to go. I do like the older sets and I am glad that I could show these to folks that have not see the creative genius of ANDY and K&C. As far as the BIG JG item go, I found a fantastic deal a while ago and hopped on it like a panic rabbit. It was a chunk of change and I couldn't get any TS for a while but it was worth it now.

Red Coats will be arriving to do battle in a while .... stay tuned -- Larry

Amazing how one figure in multiples can make a great scene! You had a great idea, it is a very useful study...{sm3}
