K&C/Chicago and its not fair! (1 Viewer)

Wayne,

Also, the the hotel situation is not dire, according to Shannon. Apparently, the convention is the following week. So what are you waiting for. Tick-tock, tick-tock....

As Andy has repeatedly said it's the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

So get with it dude!

Ok, So If I understand correctly.........................Brad and Steven and providing the Limo, :rolleyes2: Hotel space still exists, and if you travel from Texas to the show the bar drinks are on the house ^&grin ......courtesy of the Treefrog Gang ! {sm3}

Wayne,

Well, one out of three ain't bad :rolleyes2:

Hotel space exists as far as I know.

Brad

GUYS, YOU'VE ALL TOTALLY MISSED THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS THREAD!!!!

By now you were meant to start a whip round to raise money so this humble collector can fly first class to Chicago and stay in a luxury Hotel! You haven't got long now:wink2:

Rob

Rob,
I'll tell you what mate; if you can scrounge up the fair for a one way ticket, I've got three rooms (5340, 5342 and 5344) and I am sure I can find a spare bed between the three that you can have, or worse comes to worse, who the heck needs sleep......:p.......that's what coffee is for, is it not?.......:wink2:

But seriously, my Dad, also know as the chief of security as Andy calls him, isn't getting any younger and at some point, I'm going to need a super top shelf salesman/security guard, so maybe you can fill in for him once he hang up his badge??

Free room and board, meals are on me and you get a 50% commission on every sale which you can then use to either buy a plane ticket home or buy as many toy soldiers as you can shoehorn into the overhead compartment on the plane.............(ok, I was kidding about the 50% commission part, but I will throw you a few dollars to go shop on me........^&grin...........).

So there you go, now make it happen...................

As great as the London Shows are, if Rob ever came across the pond to the Chicago Show his reaction to everything would be priceless, I'll get him here come Hell or high water............^&cool

Well, a couple of shows ago, he got mildly tanked up and fell asleep on the wrong tube, so if we get him completely wasted, he may stumble on to a plane at Heathrow instead. Whether Customs let him on whilst wearing his sequined dress is another matter. Never say never.....:wink2:

Hey dudes:

I've been to a few toy soldier shows. Trust me, the Chicago Show is the Mecca Pilgrimage for a collector. Believe me, there are some die hard collectors there. I think maybe 3 or 4 years ago, they lined everyone up outside in order to start the show and "pay at the gate". So its pretty early in the morning and there must have been a line of at least 250 collectors out the door. Well whomever was setting the tollbridge up was a bit behind and the crowd started to get pretty restless. There was a moment when I seriously thought the whole line was just going to gang rush and charge in. Who says only the Russians have hooligan bands?

Rob, you need to make time in your life to go. For someone whom I know loves this hobby and is as dedicated as you, the experience will probably change your life.

The dealers all show up with their A game top brand stuff and it's all brand new. It creates a pretty cool vibe. On top of that, room trading was invented for a person like Rob.

Keep it silly

Thanks mate, I appreciate that. It looks like my wonderful and truly understanding might be lining up a return to the states for my 50th in 2014, so maybe just maybe I could arrange to be in that area for the show, would be so good to see it at least once. I understand there is a decent size shopping mall nearby too?:wink2:

Thanks Chris

Best
Rob

There's a special show rate of $109 per night. If you call, mention this is for the toy soldier show. The number is 847 605 1234.

Here is transportation information. I have already brought this up for air on the Chicago Show section of the Forum. I've used them the last few years.

I booked my arrival with them (very nice folks) so if anyone is arriving at O'hare that Friday 21st, and need a ride I have a scheduled pick-up at 1:06 p.m. at U.S. Airways gate, shoot me a email if you need a lift...Sammy
