Taking inspiration from a building I have seen in the windows of the K&C office I rebuilt a (smallest) fort for the Confederate Army.
I hope you enjoy.

Carlo, you're a real architect;
beautiful building
guy:)

Carlo...beautiful as always...all your work is so impressive...so clean and calculated...I like the texturing of this structure...what do you use and how do you trowel it on...

Very nice Carlo but I don't know if that's the kind of structure you'd find in the principal theatres of the War unless in New Mexico or the far West.

Very nice but it's more FFL than Confederate.

Reminds me of that movie with Telly Savalas film A Reason to Live, a Reason to Die (1972) Fort Wolman in the background (with cars and such.)

thank you all for your nice comments and likes.

Mike as you know I use the polystyrene to build the base. Then I spread a couple of stucco coats with a slice, when dried I sand it.

Jazzeum you are right, I believe these forts were located in the south, Fort Bliss, Bent's Old Fort or Fort Craig may be close to this kind of structure. As I said I was inspired by a picture taken in the K&C office by TomNT, I enclose his shot.

Scott I remember that movie, it is an Italian film and the mounted (Confederate) actor is Bud Spencer, alias Mr. Carlo Pedersoli born in Naples. Really the story was set in New Mexico.

Cheers

Carlo

That's a good looking setup you have there. Might I enquire who's the maker of the artillery piece ?

Very nice Carlo, a little of everything here, Britain's & JJD as well, love that fort, could use this with FFL. Cheers, Robin.

Carlo...now that I see your model...I'm even more impressed...it is a very nice replication...good job...I think the sanding technique is a great idea...it gives your structure that smooth plastered work...thanks for the tip...I bought some 1/2 foam board today...I will try it...gracias amigo!

The detail on the stucco is great very good display. You could use this fort in any scenario. Nice pics.

My apologies Carlo.It does look like it could be from the southwest.Either way great work.

Thanks for the info Carlos

... that only shows, if K&C put their minds to it, they can be releasing very mean looking artillery pieces for their ACW collectors. We'll buy multiples. Come on Andy, what say you .... {sm4}

Beautifull work Carlo!!!...and a really nice collection of Rebs you have there. Your Fort in some details is a little like a fort i made a couple of years back...Cannot remember if i posted it or not???....Mine was supposed to be an old Foriegn Legion Fort that is being searched by a column of Afrika Korps on thier retreat through Tunisia....Thanks for posting.

Steve

thanks again to all my friends for your appreciations, crafting buildings and accessories for dioramas is one of the enjoyable sides of this stunning hobby.
Steve post your fort if you still have pictures please. I started to build a FFL fort too, at the moment I completed one wall and two bastions.
ciao
Carlo

I think Your ACW fort is just great. You do wonderful work. Great mix of different manufactures. That is what makes the hobby so great. Now does any one know what is in store for K&C for their ACW series:confused::)
