I do believe that my Whippet is at the courier depot and will be with me tomorrow. Christmas comes but twice a year!

So, who else has pre-ordered it?

Just a heads up. When I removed the padding I thought the guns had bent in transit and my heart sank. But no! The guns have bearings and can be moved. Makes it even better!

It is a splendid looking tank, with outstanding detail and weathering. I am not a WW1 tank expert, so can anyone tell me what the copperish colored clip looking things on the starboard side of the tank superstructure are, and purpose? -- Al

Hi Lancer

They are track grousers which were attached to the tracks for more traction over the often broken and loose terrain.

very nicely weathered but, the film on the decals is a little too visible rather similar to what CS does a bit of decal fix to matt them down would work wonders

Thank you, sir. It is always a good day when I learn something.:smile2: -- Al

Now, now. No complaints from me. It compares uber favourably with the Mk IV K&C produced. Now that was v.shiny indeed.

Received mine today as promised! Not much I can add to Isandlwana' s splendid pics and comments - but I must mention the hefty feel of holding this wonderful
piece in your hands. I really think John has blown everyone else out of the Ball Park with this release. I hear this is just the start of a very big collection of WW1 Vehicles.

Cheers! Roy.

Are you going to the London show in March?

Yes I'll be there - made all of the Shows this year, I hope to repeat next year! It would be a pleasure to meet up if you are attending?

Yes, I'm going. JJ is going too, so we can attempt a pincer movement thus trapping him and finding out what's in store for us!

Will definitely meet up. Look forward to it.

You two should try and join the rest of us silly sods in the traditional TFr's bar meet. :wink2:

Jeff

That would be great - there isn't a huge number of Toy Soldier Collectors around my neck of the woods! ( Actually, there aren't any! )

What sort of time do you retire to the bar? I have a curfew!

I got there a bit early this time around but quite enjoyed watching the world go by in Starbucks for an hour beforehand. If anyone fancies a hot beverage before we're allowed in in March, I may well buy it. I liked Islington. Very relaxed atmosphere.
