start of new project (1 Viewer)

very nice job on that piece...love the green doors with the rust and the numbers on the wall...

Next step : Will show with a few pictures (in 5 steps)how to make a realistic looking concrete road or platform
guy:)

here are the first two pics and the first 8 steps to make your own concrete road
-Cut a piece of foamboard ( architect paper)to the exact measurements of your dio.
-Indicate exactly where your building(s), grass and other detail will come
-take away the protecting paper from the foamboard
-draw wth a pencil the broken concrete onto the foam
-make the concrete joints with an engraving needle
-make the fine fissures with a normal needle ( mounted on an old brush handle for easy work)
-add extra detail such as sewer covers, manholes ( press them into the foam)and others
-give it several coats of light grey enamel paint ( will serve as a base for further weathering). The paint will also strenghten the foam. Let it dry for at least 48 hours
more to follow

here are the final stages
-cover the whole surface with a black acryl wash so that all the cracks show up ( 70/30 water/ paint base)
-Fill the deeper joints with milliput
-Fill the smaller cracks with very small rubble
-When dry do a pin wash .The wash can now contain more black paint. This is to accentuate all fissures and cracks
-to get rid of the black rim, sandpaper the whole surface with a 600 grain
- when this job is finished now the fun can start: painting the concrete in numerous shades of grey and tan colour
You will see the end result in my next dio " Is it still on for tonight ?"
