Hello guys:
I picked up the following pieces- this week- we touched on the T34 so we will leave that to its own thread:
1.) WS48- Great set!! I love on the one figure who has sewed back on a patch to cover a torn hole. Love the officer with the Luger. I now have the WS48-51 run of grunts (well, it will be complete in July
) and think this is one of the best runs of German infantry, if not the best KC did. They are all really cool figs with great poses.
2.) DD48- That Sergeant working the Tommy is fantastic. Love the beachmaster LT but if you look at his head a certain direction, it looks a little large, minor distraction but this is one of my favorite Allied grunt sets.
3.) WS65- I had to have the officer tending to his trooper and holding off the Russians with his Luger. That is one of my favorites! A great piece- the set itself is average but the officer propels this one up- for me anyway.
4.) RA 14- Katyusha Rocket Launcher- fantastic truck- smooth rolling Russian vehicle of destruction. The Berlin sign post add-on is a cool plus. The accordian playing Russian detracts from this set though- what do I do with him?? I would have prefered to see perhaps a driver, ammo man, or commo sergeant with this set. I think the accordian players would have worked better with its own set complete with dancing russians and KC could have done an add on set to give the Katyusha a crew (and ditch the traffic controller in the process). I think this set offers the "clumsiest" figure add-on with the accordian player. Great truck just gotta figure out how it will play out in the scheme of things.
5.) IWJ24- My first Iwo Piece- picked it up mostly because it was retired. Fun tankette, great crew. It looks like the main gun was nothing more than a 60mm mortar though. I sit back and look at the top ten tank discussions we have had and I wonder why the Japanese have never put out a killer tank when they are global leaders with automotive and industrial technology?? They are clearly a nation who has built their supremacy around the water rather than land.
Well, that's it from me. It's been pretty busy here with postal trucks and all. I got a monster order coming in July so I will see you then!!
STANDS ALONE!!
