When you receive a Tank or Aircraft from K&C or anyone else in the TS mob.....are the models fully assembled or part assembled ?...I would guess that aircraft would need to have wings and tail sections separate due to packing space..... I have seen on the forum some collectors have Tanks done for them (Not Painted but assembled for them)...that is the reason I am asking......there is no "Hidden Agenda" in this question... I would guess a fully assembled model would be implacable for posting....... TomB

Hi TomB,

The plane comes in one piece, except for the propeller and sometimes, the canopy if it is meant to showcase a pilot getting in or out.

Tanks are usually two sections, hull is one section and turret is another section. Accessories can sometimes be separated.

Self propelled guns is one complete piece usually, but bigger SPG or vehicles may have a separate gun section.

All white metal soldier figures are most of time separated from the main polystone vehicle. Unless they are sitted inside the vehicle, e.g. Pilot, Gunner, Driver. But, the latter is not the norm.

Thank you Chris....I have been curious about how the model were packed for awhile....also I did wonder what the models were made from....for some reason I imagined the AFV's would be metal,,,,,,thanks again....Tom

Tom,

Lol, maybe it is time for you to buy one. I try to recommend a dealer near you and get a commission from him...:)

Just jesting with you on the commission, of course. The K&C ones are mostly polystone, with some older ones (smaller) metal. Most of the other brands are resin. For resin, usually I am more weary because I heard it is less durable. So, there are some brands offering resin, with nice paintwork, unique models, but the worry is that it will deteriorate with time.

I guess if you have questions wrt polystone versus resin, a Materials expert in this forum can explain more. I cannot comment more in case I give the wrong info.

no questions Chris...I believe the polystone that K&C use it top class......I asked the questions to fill a gap in my knowledge,,,,,and Maybe...I may even buy a Tank...they were just big, noisy and not much use in certain conditions to me once but lately I am becoming very interested in the WW2 variety..Tom

My reply to tanks fully assembled. Yes they are with the exception of tank turrets only need to be placed on top of the hull.K&C packing seems to be working quite well as I have had no issues as far as breakage. I would assume that you currently do not own any K&C armor. ^&confuse
