John Frost's men moved from the LZs and DZs toward the bridge. They arrive with 3 of the 'special' jeeps on the river road. They set up in the surrounding buildings to create an area which they could defend incase of attack and where they could monitor the bridge closely.
They sent men to the roofs and set up an elavated light machine gun and piat position.
A squad of men moved onto the bridge to try their luck at crossing it. They were met with german armoured cars and other vehicles from the other side of the bridge.
At the other side of the town General Urquhart *****ses his position on an LZ. The paras have created defensive positions to hold the DZs including a mortar position and an artilley position. Urquhart has been cut off from Frost by several divisions of the 9th SS Panzer Division. Several German patrols have already tried to attack the DZ position with mortars and artillery bombardments. The germans are preparing for another attack and have begun by sending in an armoured car.
Several large vehicles are on the road near the bridge which has resulted in Frost and his men being surrounded. A German anti-aircraft gun mounted on a half track fires at the Polish Horsa Gliders and Dakotas trying to prevent the paras from recieving any reinforcements!
Some polish paras incuing Sosabowski have landed are are trying to send supplies across the Rhine to resupply Frost and his men.
The battle continues...:wink2:
