Well Rob, I hope the Champagne is chilling, because I just got me second star and checked into the Ritz . . .

well said pierre... louis, congradulations on your promotion, it is well deserved. andy

Thanks guys, I certainly appreciate it.

Brian, I think Brad is a full General by now (I think its 4000 posts for Lieutenant General and 5000 posts for full General).

I still think that anyone who makes Major General has to get up on stage and preform the song from The Pirates of Penzance.:cool:

As the self appointed Aide to the newly appointed Major General I would like to point out some of his achievements over the past 2 years 1 month 23 days and 3002 post at an average of 3.82 post per day. He's provided the forum with many photos of his well loved collection of King and Country, has built a mini and more than likely a larger museum in which he lovingly displays his collection and love sharing it. He's currently in the process of creating a photographical history of the same. Please correct me my General if I'm mistaken. Along with the above from time to time provided many fine points regarding our hobby along with historical items. I therefore stand at attention and salute my newly appointed Major General......The Lt.

My goal is now to achieve the rank of Briadier my shouting ZULU at the rate of 15.42 post per day so I can beat the record of achieving the rank in less than 5 months and 11 days from today...The Lt. Hat's of to you Louis your a major asset to the Forum and your rank is well deserved.....Joe

I'll tell you what, you get me a copy of the lyrics, and I'll sing it at the next symposium. I must warn you, however, that my singing voice might well be likened to alley cats copulating, so you have me sing at your own risk.

I am thrilled to have such an accomplished aide. I think many generals need their aides to get through the day without causing international incidents, so I will probably rely on you a great deal.

I think everything you said is correct, but, I can only emphasize that the photographic history of King & Country is a joint effort which would not be possible without the help of many, many people on this forum, including my new aide de camp Lt. Joe as well as Hans Hedrich, Larry Lo, Steven Chong, Kevin Elliott, Pierre, Jim, Firebat, the Nevilles, our hosts the Reuss's and all the other generous individuals who have helped or will soon help with obtaining the necessary materials, research, drafting, editting, photography and formatting.

Very well put......Louis is a very positive asset to this forum and if I had a hat I would take it off to him :)

By the way make sure that the word ZULU is in a large coloured font or it doesn't count :p

Best regards

Jeff

Perfectly put.
General Badolato, you are an officer, and a gentleman. Thank you for being on hand with your knowledge, and more importantly, your sincere offer to impart on others. Your generosity in spirit is something to aspire to.
Well done! :)

It's simple- it's really like we have our own version of SHAEF as someone alluded to with Rob's for his promotion- Rob can be Monty, Louis can be whomever he chooses and Brad is FDR. The Reusses are the Royal family.

So who is Stalin??? :D:D

BTW- An interesting stat I read over the weekend- in the current US Army (btw, the division is being phased out- a typical command for a 2 Star), 80% of Bulls (One Stars) never put that second star on.

STANDS ALONE LOUIS!!!

Congrats Louis and welcome to the Ritz! On a serious note you are without doubt one of the central pillars of this forum, without you here it would just not be the same.Your help, advice and humour is much appreciated by this reader and i know by many others, well done mate, now pass the brandy will you!:D

Rob

Many Congratulations Louis! A rank well earned.

I see that you already have an ADC and general staff appointed. At my low rank, is the job of batman up for grabs? :)

Trouble is Ken here at the Ritz we have so many staff just happy to run right along and do anything we ask:eek::D!

Rob

Well Rob, I’m just a diamond’s throw away from you at the Dorchester and it is about the same routine here. Oh how I would love to experience the pleasure of cleaning my own bathtub again; just once more!:D

I must pop over in the Rolls later and compare notes on the service levels.;)
