Many of us like the late 19th Century British Colonial wars. Most of these figures have been done in glossy traditional style. Those of us who love K&C's detail and matte finish would love to see a Field of Battle Type series devoted to the Sudan & Egyptian Campaigns, the Zulu Wars, the North West Frontier, the Boer War, etc. I think this is a subject that could be done with a dealer sponsor such as the UK has done with the Crimean War.

Scenario: A new Field of Battle series called Queen (Victoria) & Country
1879 to 1902 covering colonial British forces and their enemies to be sponsored by the "Queen of Toy Soldiers" at Treefrog Treasures. These could be done as a limited edition if necessary.

Any interest out there?

Superb idea, count me in.I have recently started to get interested in some of these conflicts and i would very much like to see Boer War,Zulu war Egyptian campaign etc.Although i am so stretched i couldn't afford to do them thoroughly as i am with WW1/2 i would still like to have a small representation of some of these conflicts.

I could be interested in the Boar War and the Sudan Campaigns - especailly if we get more Camels !! :D :D :D

Talking of Camels,i'd bet you'd love a Lawrence of Arabia on a camel eh Ron?.

I'd like to see it but in glossy. With today's sculpting, I think it would be superb.

I would say that you gentleman should be looking out for the dealers dispatches for December, 2008 (right before the 25th Anniversary of King & Country) . . . you may get some of your wishes . . .

Now you've said it Louis, 25th Anniversary!.I'm guessing your not letting anything out of the bag mate, but if the bag should get heavy give me a shout!;)

Rob

India.... That would be awesome. Another movie springs to mind. Gunga Din. :D

I would love some figures from the indian mutiny, brutal as it was on both sides.

Rob

Yes. I agree. But the figures would be great. Officers on Horse leading patrols with guns atop elephants and... sorry got carried away.

That sounds wonderful, officers atop Elephants!.That would make for a stunning display.

Without giving too much away, for K&C's 25th Anniversary, Andy has indicated an interest in revisiting some of the subjects K&C originally produced between 1984 and 1990, but in todays level of quality. Back then K&C produced (1) Seaforth Highlanders, Royal Artillery and Indian Army fighting on the North West Frontier/Afghanistan against Pathan Hill-Tribesmen, (2) Camel Corps in India and the Sudan, (3) various British and Indian Army cavalry units, and (4) Zulus and Boxers.

Now your talking Louis! Sounds like the Anniversary next year will be very special.

Rob

A series of Empire battles under the banner 'Queen and Country' it screams 25th Anniversary range!:)

That's a visual I could have done without. :D:D Sorry. When I get enthusiastic, I tend to forget punctuation.

I like the idea of the Sudan and colonial wars of the late 1800's. That is my favorite behind wwll. I don't care if they are glossy or matte but hope some mounted officers and Sudan and Egyptian infantry with Highlanders and Naval landing parties. Like that idea. Leadmen

I found this example from the Anglo-Sudan Campaign on the web and offer it as inspiration to all those who hope Andy will do a Queen & Country collection. The figure is a Black Watch Highlander from the 42nd Division very likely from the Battle of Tamai. Does anyone know if this figure is available from any company? There was no info at the site. Same site has some great figures from Zulu War and Indian Mutiny which I can post if there is interest. Randy
