Very nice model. This may sound like an odd thing to comment on, but I like the way that JJ handled the canvas covering over the rear of the vehicle. It reminds me of his treatment of the fabric on the fuselage of the S.E.5a. The way that the "material" appears "bunched" is quite impressive. I guess when you've done as many pair of trousers as JJ has, it gets pretty old-hat.^&cool

I agree with you it is a very nice truck. I picked one up at Southeastern show this past weekend.

The only drawback is, for me, the fixed tarpaulin, we cannot put a french 75mm gun on it.

I don't think it is an odd comment at all. It is the little details like this that I think help to fix the item into reality, even if it is a scale model. In life we seethis all the time. On a scale model we may or may not notice if it is or is not there. Most times it will seem odd when something is not quite right on a model but it just not look right. John's models always feel and look right. Take a look at the photograph of the model on it's side. John has done the undercarriage and engine. Very nice.

My father in law was building a 1/6 scale Dodge weapons carrier and was asking about the transfer case on the back axel. I asked him why he was doing the underside of the truck and he said in case I wanted to have it on it's side wrecked.

So, just like the work John is doing on his sets, the little details are the crowning touches that make them a joy to collect.
