We have a customer looking for WWI US Marines. I'm sure some of you out there have them....

Pete,

This month's edition of the much discussed Toy Soldier magazine has an article about WWIUS soldiers from DJs Miniatures (page 24).

There was a company a few years ago called "Americans in Miniature" that specialized in U.S. Marines from 1900 through 1930. You might try to find out if they are still in business. Also Trophy did some WWI U.S. Marines, as did Britains Premier (now Charles Biggs I think).

Americans in Miniature had an extensive USMC line as Louis said. Also, Martin Ritchie out of Pennsylvania makes them. I had a set of 5 WWI US Marines but sold them. Sometimes you can find them on eBay and at the toy soldier shows.

Just came across Trophy's set GW17V WWI U.S. Marines marching on an e-bay store in the original box for $99 with free shipping.

Edmunds make the best flag figures I've ever seen. They are absolutely works of art.

I have some 40 sets, mostly ACW Union Zouaves...Am looking at his Custer set ....Michael

I don't have any yet, but I would like to get the 5th New York Zoaves color party, because the New York State flag is stunning.

I have 15 of Edmund's ACW sets on display. Ed is a real nice guy. He usually attends both the West Coaster and the Chicago toy soldier shows. Look him up if you get a chance.

I've met him at the Chicago show. He is a very nice guy, and a good friend of Steven Chong.

Congratulations on completing the Edmund's ACW line. Your brother must be one of the few who has done so.

Steven,

Any chance we could get you or your brother to post a few photos here?

Steven,

Do you know how many Edmund's ACW sets there are? By my count, there are at least 220 sets including the over-the-shoulder bands. None of my sets are numbered. I have a 11 X 17 inch full-color poster suitable for framing from Edmund's ACW range with eight sets depicted. The first set in the upper left hand corner is the Maryland Guard Battalion, 53rd Inf. Regt.; the next set is the 23rd Regt. Virginia Inf., the Brooklyn Grays; etc. If you would like this poster, I'll give it to you at the next West Coaster. Remind me as we get closer to the date, I am getting old and forgetful.

Dear Mike,
As of the 2007 West Coaster, Edmund has made 219 different ACW sets. Since production is limited to 100 sets, some of the more popular sets are in the second or "B Edition," though Ed makes the "B" set slightly different from the first edition set (usually by adding a flag bearer). My brother already has the poster you describe, but thank you for thinking of us. Is the Southern California Toy Soldier Collector's club still meeting in San Jose in August?:)

Dear Brad,
My brother is currently remodeling his study, so his entire Edmund collection is currently back in its boxes. I will take some photos when he sets up his displays again.:)

Dear Steven,

Yes, we are meeting on the weekend of August 4th. I sent you an e-mail several days ago. I have a special opportunity for 15 of us on Saturday afternoon in addition to seeing Bob Walker's collection. I will send an invitation out over the forum with details in the next couple of days. You are included with the Southern California Toy Soldier Collectors Society as my guest and will have the chance, if you wish, to see the special opportunity over inactive members of our group.
