Since toy soldier displays are normally a snapshot of a historical event (although nice in and of itself), this may still not hold the attention of a younger audience long enough for them to appreciate it. My proposal would be for the manufacturers to build diorama accessories that incorporate some lighting effects (where appropriate) that allows for a little more sense of animation in displays. Not sure if this will work but it is just an idea... :salute::
 
It could also just be as simple as an attachment to a tank muzzle that simulates firing or a ground explosion with a orange/red flash. An attachment to a vehicle/figure is likely a better way to go to avoid putting-off the purists out there...!!! :salute::

I think I a good method to interest younger members is to start at schools....A few retired collectors could get together and tour schools with small mobile diorama's....a choice of subjects would be easy in America as there is so many choice's besides the world wars and Vietnam etc....the WOI and ACW are two that come to mind.......tours of this type make history lessons more interesting and as a side benefit...promote TS......there is a chap in West Aust who tours country school promoting interest in the ALH......He runs an ALH re-enactment troop and is very keen to promote Aust history.....regards TomB
 
I think toy soldier makers should look at what young teenagers are looking at these days. My kids are into anything with vampires or zombies and maybe a end of the world theme would catch the interest of the younger ones. Just some thoughts. Chris.

Mine are into Peppa pig so maybe they should start making them as well ^&grin

ALH is a meteorite that was found in Allan Hills, Antarctica on December 27, 1984 by a team of U.S. meteorite hunters from the ANSMET project
