Louis,

Will your K&C book address what was intended for skipped sets, e.g., AK10, 12, 14-15? Also, will it have some kind of index for when sets were released and retired? Thanks.

DK

The book catalogues every set K&C has ever produced from 1984 until the draft was completed, with set designation or number, descriptions and photographs. It gives release dates, production numbers, but not dates of retirement.

Cool Louis,

When is it coming out? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Carlos

The arrangements should be finalized the week of the OTSN show in Chicago. All the principals (except Panda1gen, the photographer) will be present, and the sponsorship/distribution agreement should be worked out.

Louise...will this book point out if sets have been retired and when they were retired..if so will it reflect all the recent retirements?

It does so, in a way. It points out final production numbers, except where the set is still being produced which it indicates. However, it does not give dates of retirement, only the dates the set entered production.

Thanks Louis for your reply...will all dealers get books or where will we order from once availiable?

WELLINGTON

The sponsors of the book are arranging for exclusive distributorships. You will order from one of the two sponsors.

Please let us know when they are available and from who so that ALL on Treefrog cen order theirs in advance.......I know the Napoleonic section isn't the largest line but will there be a fair amount represented (of the newer stuff since 2000)...Also I know your love lies in WW2...BUT...has as much care been put into the other lines?

WELLINGTON

The chapters of the book I wrote are all given equal care. However, I have not yet seen the chapter which includes the matt Napoleonics, as that is the one chapter being completely drafted by co-author Lawrence Lo, and he has yet to finish it.

This book really does sound like the bible for us K&C fans Louis,do you think it will be easy to purchase, perhaps through our normal suppliers of K&C products?

Once it is available, everyone on this forum should have no problem obtaining a copy.

What are the chances of Andy signing some and the proceeds from those limited numbers going to some charity of Andy's or Treefrog's choosing?...Michael

Guys

I think you will find after production etc there will not be a lot of profit if any in the making of the book. talking with Louis i understand the project is not intended as a profit making exercise! To a point!

Mate, you're wrong. There will be a lot of profit. We, the collectors, will profit from the efforts of Louis, Lawrence, Hans and all those who will have brought the book to reality.

Brad true true.

Was just assuring people that there will most probably be nothing to give away that is all!

Can i say that i have nothing against charity incase it comes across that way. Last year K&C UK donated all the profits / projected profits of the Escape to vistory shirts to The Royal British Legion. And this was before all the shirts were / are sold.

10 weeks til Chicago

Tony. It's obvious this is more a labor of love, and fun than all else. We the forumites do appreciate the effort.and wil be anxious to get our sticky hands on our copies.
As a suggestion a couple of issues could be held aside with perhaps a custom drawing by Andy for an auction (silent?) the procedes going to charity? Just a modest sugestion as stated. O.C.

Just a reminder guys. All treefroggers who want to participate, Kevin Elliott (Panda1gen) the photographer for the book is flying into New York on July 24th, and staying to do the photos until August 1st. A bunch of guys are coming, including co-authors Hans Hedrich and Larry Lo (who finally e-mailed me the chapter on matt non-WWII this week), Mark Hoffman, Charlie Zucker, Tim Tyler, Evilchuck, and probably our old friend Doug Luna from San Fransisco. Anyone else who wants to participate is welcome. Just PM me or e-mail me for directions.
