Just read on TSSD,s site that the mounted Mexicans won,t be ready until at least the Chicago Show. They say it now takes a year to get a set of figures done in China.
Wondering how any plastic will be forthcoming!

Yikes, if Nick, with all his experience and contacts, is even being slowed down, it doesn't bode well for much in plastic at all.

I know turnaround has been long for things coming out of China. I wonder how long Marx took from inception to production with all their in-house designers, artists, etc...

They might be worth a look when these come out, have no interest in Mexican Cavalry but might work as French line Lancers.
Are they just going to use there existing western Horses?.....or make new ones with different horse furniture??

I don't know why Mexican Cav? Recreate or "play" the final massacre outside the Alamo? Presidio Cav with the "Zorro" sombreros or Regulars with the helmets?

TSSD did use the CW horses for their mounted Nazis. I hope not.

Cavalry will be wearing Helmets. Existing horses will be used. Paragon is also stating China now takes a year to complete a project, start to finish. I would bet it depends on the order size. Just a thought

Scott you make a good point why Mexican Cav?........The CTS ones are plenty good enough.
I suppose they are just trying to get more mileage out of those pony's.

Perhaps but I don't blame them for that.

I hate to criticize TSSD, nice folks. The latest Mexicans are limited in use just to Mexican elite troops with Baker Rifles, yet w/o the gear for riflemen. A run of Brown Besses and French type muskets would make these figures more usefull. Their dismounted US cavalry is neither fish nor fowl for CW or Indian Wars because of lack of gear for either period.

TSSD horses are really good but details such as the US canteens need to be excised with a knife to be correct for another army or time period.

The detail and poses on TSSD figures are paint worthy and diorama worthy yet need details such as carbine slings and gear on the correct location to avoid the collector having hours to correct the defects before painting.

(They ARE fun right out of the bag for most people.)
