Does anybody collect these? (1 Viewer)

I have always loved the chariots K&C made for Ancient Egypt...they are some of my prized pieces...being so intricate and detailed....they are delicate...so I try not to handle them often...

if any may be forthcoming for the Ancient Greek series...perhaps they could be made in a more "modular form"...which would make them more durable for show and shipping...

perhaps manufactured in a style where the wheels are unattached...maybe the horses too....maybe even some of the more delicate accessories if it were similar to the Egyptian ones...

I would definitely not procrastinate on ordering several of them instead of waiting to chase them on Ebay...

any chance Andy?

I hope...^&grin

I know Andy is probably pulling his hair out if he is reading these posts....

I can almost hear him saying...

"the more I give...the more they ask for...I just can't make those greedy guys happy"...hahaha...

but this last request is a much more simpler one than an elephant or a chariot...

I really like that you have re-used the sculpts on AG005 for AG030...and AG006 for AG031...

even though it's the same pose/sculpt...the different repaint on garb, head dress and shield makes them pretty unique...

nobody wants to collect "attack of the clones"...with a phalanx of duplicates...

so as far as I'm concerned...you can keep re-issueing these poses with different unique paint schemes and I will collect them...

I would like to create a small phalanx...

Mike

They look great .. and your diorama really add to these fine figures. Given the way AG005, 006 and 007 are posed, a phalanx display is almost a given for any collector. So I am with you and hope that K&C will continue to release differently painted variants of these 3 core poses.

That said, the new Persians are even more stunning and I look forward to an expansion of Darius's army since they almost always outnumbered the Greeks. {sm3}

So Mike, that second chariot variant looks very good quality wise to the K&C chariot is that from the Del Prado line and is that how it comes or have you reworked the piece?

Ray...

the picture I posted of the 2 chariots...

both of them are K&C...

I have not done a thing to either of them...they are totally stock...

I wish I had more...I had another and sold it at the San Antonio show...I regret that now!

but still...I would love it if Andy did one for the Persians...and I would hope they would make it in pieces for the owner to assemble...so it would ship better...

My Bad, I thought the figure was different on the second, do you have trouble with the axles on yours? there so soft and mine has a tendency to sag...:(
And yes, andy needs to produce the enemies/conquests of the Pharoahs

oooooooh yea...^&grin

I bought the first one "used"...it came with the wheels dislodged from the base...the axel bent and paint chipped on the axel itself...I had to rework it...

I bought another one "used"... that came about the same way...not a really difficult fix...but scarey upon opening...

and I bought one advertised as new...never removed from the box...and it came the same way also...

they were all pretty easy fixes...

Andy is aware that it was a tough piece to ship...but it's sooooooooo friggin pretty...

my biggest concerns were the tassels on the horse's skirt and the feathers on the horse's head...but thankfully all mine were intact and the integrity of the metal was still very solid...

there are so many intricate/delicate colorful pieces on this model...which is of course why it is so beautiful...

I just feel like it could be re-done for another series in a more modular form instead of one solid piece...perhaps the chariot carriage in one piece...the horses...wheels and quiver serarate...

I really hope he does another...I will buy several this time and never sell them...

I saw some sell on Ebay recently for over $1,000 each...I wish he would make some for this series...

Perhaps we be getting somethings big pretty soon, chariots ? elephants ? Or even camels ?
Sure would love some of the new cavalry with interchangeable riders and mounts.
