With Thomas gunn skipping their monthly dispatches (albeit likely doubling up in Nov plus some custom releases), wbritians (basically in a holding pattern outside of the standard to year end) and who knows what conte is doing.. it is abit of a lull in the action . Maybe it is the post Chicago blues lol Should we read much into this?

If you only collected TG, BR and Conte you might have a point.

However there are other brands releasing figures this month apart from TG. Britains has got plenty of releases scheduled in next few months.

Not sure how you can use Conte as a reference point. Conte has not released anything for about 18 months but you fail to mention FL, CS, K&C or Jenkins who have plenty of new releases.

I guess it depends what you collect but the variety of choices available is, in my view, quite considerable.

and before Trooper arrives don't forget the huge range of UK produced figures by such companies as Alexander's Toy Soldiers, Dorset, Heritage, Little Legion, Sarum, BTSC, and some of the newer producers.

Fair point, about the larger universe

Fair point, about the larger universe and I do collect some of the other major matte manufacturers outside of jenkins. I think my point was that 3 of the 7 majors have slowed of late. I am just wondering if there is too much production out there with all the recent surge in consignment sales and glut of product on ebay these days. K&C offering discounted two packs, K&C dealer in Italy offering 15% discounts. Just curious if maybe all the recent prices increases and rising US dollar are starting to impact sales... and the state of health of the major toy soliders manufacturers

Plenty of choice in the market. Perhaps too much. Manufactures appear to be scaling back on production quantities in an attempt to keep up with the rapidly receding demand. Bachmann (UK distributor of Britains) have been offloading excess stock through one of their long standing train retailers. Thomas Gunn have disguised themselves as a lady selling off her late husbands toy soldier collection. Is there room for all the manufacturers in the current market place?

There is so much good stuff out there that you have to pick and choose and go slowly
Not sure if the market can stand such a frenetic pace of new releases and don't have the answer
But on a personal level I just pick and choose what I like and bide my time
It has been a golden period and hopefully it will continue
All the best for 2015.

Re: slow period - T Gunn dumping on ebay

What do you mean when you make that assumption?

I know what Charlie Brown means and I have also come across this, my suspicions were raised by,
A/. what they were selling, it did not make sense as a personnel collection, for example there were around 8 or 10 of the same vehicle.
B/. the person selling the items was based in the same small town as Thomas Gunn and when I had to return some items it was to the name of a person who is name on the T Gunn website as an employee!
C/. I have also brought from T Gunn directly and it is the same delivery company and the boxes for packaging are the same as is the way things are packed.
D/. the ebay seller is selling a collection from someone who has passed away, however looking at the first date when they began selling, they appear to be selling things from T Gunn which were released after the person did pass away!

This is against the ebay rules, they are not a personal but business sellers.

what it means to T Gunn collectors depends on your attitude?
