For me an M26 Pershing in the markings of the "Hell on Wheels" or "Spearhead" Divisions (I'd make a diorama of it blowing the turret off a Panther in front of a ruined cathedral).

Its a famous film clip of an actual event. It was late in the war in a city in Germany (the name of which escapes me) when an Allied tank collumn turned a corner into a plaza in front of a cathedral, and a Panther knocked out the lead tank, a Sherman. The Pershing turned the corner, and without stopping put three rounds into the Panther at quite some distance, blowing its turret off, setting it on fire and killing the entire crew. I could use the ruined church and some other pieces from the K&C/Foamtech Normandy Village as a backdrop in recreating the scene. All I need Andy to make is the Pershing and a few dead German Tankers.

some more winter sets like the Honour bound winter kitchen with horse drawn artillary and some German ambulances and of course my favourite a Junkers Ju 88 white like the one in where Eagles Dare ........ loading troops from Stalingrad that would make a good Diaorma .....

Shreman M4 "Jumbo" late war..or a..I mean a...No maybe a..no a.......help. O.C.

A M 14-41 with the black ram insignia from the Ariate Armored Division.

Hi Guys,

Louis, Hell on Wheels!

However the Tank engagement you descride was in the city of Koln or Colonge in english. This was a very famous engagement by 3rd AD, elements of Combat Command B. Probably from Task Force Doan. The Panther Destroyed a Sherman and killed 4 of the crew before an M26 New to the Division came up and fired 3 rounds into the Panther destroying it and killing 3 of the crew members. Incidently the Pershing fired its first round which when deflected down by the gun mantel penetrated the hull deck while on the move. The other two penetrated the rear flank of the Panther. Some fine shooting to say the least.

My pick for one and only tank would be an M1A1 Abrams.

All the best

Dave

The Pershing is a very good idea.
