Hi all,
The barrel and recuperator are turned aluminum and it can be set up with the transport wheels removed.
There will also be an add on two man set with extra shells and fuse boxes.
The first crew will be in winter clothing...the second release will be in the temperate uniform and the gun painted differently, perhaps gray.

Could I know what is the scale of this 88 ? {sm4}

One of the reasons I like to buy Britains artillery, vehicles, and other equipment is that I know every last detail and technical part will be correct- often when it is not even a readily visible part.

Winter version please... I have full set of K&C four 88mm winter gunners and one commander - atlas but no gun ^&grin

The gun looks great. Britain's is putting out quite an array of new items that are very impressive.
Definitely in on the new 'Wrath of the Northmen', and I haven't bought any makers WWII sets for years.......but these upcoming WB releases look very tempting.

Also, that stone barn is a beaut of a scenic piece. Will that be produced sometime in the future ?

Count me in for a camo version and a grey version (if produced). The detail is fantastic. I like the paint on this piece better than the pics I've seen of the Schwimmwagen. It seems more muted. This is definitely one of the better 3 color camo paint jobs I've seen in 1:30.

I'd be interested in the scenic but I believe it's a box diorama which doesn't work for me.

Frank

Evidently this is going to feature in the Winter catalogue so will probably be a later release than the WWII items Britains have already announced - worth waiting for though!

Hi Dragon,

The barn has been in the Market for a while now.....it is sculpted and sold by Hudson & Allen Studios, worth checking out...the site is www.hudsonandallen.com

The price i heard from a very reliable source was between $310 and $325 with 3 crew and wheels as shown.

Thanks for posting Wayne, the new 88 does look good with superb detail. If the price you posted is correct then it will be pricey but then in this day and age of high toy soldier prices it doesn't sound to bad, especially if it does come with 3 crew and wheel assemblies. I'm assuming Ken will release an 8 ton half track in the future to tow it as well.

One more thing I will mention and I would be concerned about if I were to buy one is, how well it would travel in the post. Breakage in the post was an issue with other manufacturers that made 88's.

All good points mate

Wayne,

That would put it a little less than the WWI German gun Britians recently released and therefore reasonably priced at $325 US.

I suppose it would be wishful thinking one in Desert colour would also be released

Regards
Mark

I would not give up so easily, as the write-up in the Standard on the ** starts with a little DAK story of how effective Rommel was in using the 88 in desert warfare. But for now, I think the focus will be on 1944/45 West Front and possibly East Front.

It`s certainly extremely well made and detailed. I don`t collect Britains, have only a few items, but this will certainly come zooming into my collection as a flying '88 shell! I saw Brad said it`s 1/30, but I just want to double check this with you guys, since Britains is more 1/32ish.

Carlos,

WB may have been 1/32 in the past (and may still be in some glossy ranges) but haven't been a long time. It may be appear smaller to some and that is because some of the competition is not 1/30 but more like 1/28. However, Ken knows scale and if he says it's 1/30 and he told me it was, then you can rely on it being 1/30.

Brad
