The Henschel turreted KT would be ideal for the new BBG figs. Peiper had these tanks with his battlegroup as you all know:D This tank would be awesome to have in the K&C arsenal, how about it Andy !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy said there are some German vehicles for the Bulge coming later in the year,so what do we think they might be guys?.

I watched an ep of Tanks today (Ardenne)and it had a bit about these turrets.I would also like to see this version of a KT.What a monster this Tank was and i think it would be a natural progression from this to a Jagdtiger(based on the KT Chassis).

I had kind of decided to concentrate more on smaller vehicles. Motorcycles, cars, etc. But a B of the B Henschel Turreted King Tiger would be a must-have if it were to be released.

I'd like the Henschel turreted KT in white/winter camo.Awsome.

A Bulge Henschel turrent King Tiger might very well be in the cards for this year. On the other hand, K&C might wait until next year to coincide with their next wave of Fallschirmjagers, because some of the most famous pictures from the Bulge fighting are the series of shots showing German paras from 3rd Fallschirmjager Division riding on the back of a King Tiger.

C.S.

I like your thinking-very methodical. That would make for some great releases & something to look forward to.

Cheers,
Beaufighter

For those who might be interested - here are a few facts on the Henschel Tiger II that I pulled from my Armor Reference Guide :

The Henschel design for the Tiger II (King Tiger) was completed in October 1943. Early Production models carried a turret designed by Porsche, but after the first 50 models had been built, the tanks were wholly produced by Henschel.

The tank was simular to the Panther and used the same engine, although its heavier armour, impenetrable to most Allied weapons, resulted in a lower power-to-weight ratio and consequent loss of speed and mobility.

The main problem with the Tiger II was unreliability. Many were abandoned by their crew when they broke down or ran out of fuel, as their bulk made them difficult to move or conceal. The Tiger II first saw combat on the Eastern Front in May 1944 and in the battles in Normandy in the autum of that year.

Crew: 5

Weight: 69,700kg (153,340lbs)

Dimensions: length 10.25m (33ft 8in); width 3.75m (12ft 3.5in); height 3.09m (10ft 1.5in)

Range: 110km (68miles)

Armour: 100-150mm (3.94-5.9in)

Armament: one 88mm KwK 43 gun; two 7.92 MG34 machine guns (one coaxial, one on hull front)

Powerplant: one Maybach HL 230 P30 12-cylinder petrol developing 700hp (522kW)

Performace: maximum road speed 38km/h (24mph); fording 1.60 (5ft 3in); verticle obstacle 0.85m (2ft 10in); trench 2.5 (8ft 2in)

:D :D :D

Interesting info Ron.For general info and battle performance i can highly recommend the dvd series 'Tanks',lots of info and some great films of a whole range of WW2 Tanks.

I realise the popularity of the King Tiger but I'd like to see a Jagdpanzer IV added to to the Bob range.

What is the difference between a Henschel and the King Tigers that KC has already produced?

The Henschel KT had a redesigned turret. K&C produced the Porsche turret KT. That turret has the curved forward part of the turret which acted like a shot trap. The Henschel turret had a straight face on the turret and a different mantlet, it also had room for more shells and was cheaper to produce. The pics that are in this post show some shots of the Henchel turreted KT. Check em out and you will see the difference.

Personally I prefer the appearance of the Porsche turret, but the Henschel was produced in greater numbers and therefore is more iconic of the King Tiger (a.k.a. Royal Tiger a.k.a. Tiger II).
