I saw that on the news. Pretty amazing (to me -- don't know if that's standard fare) that they tried to doctor the ball. I know that in baseball pitchers try that all the time but it's hard to get away with it now. I played cricket when I was a kid and lived in Trinidad but unfortunately don't remember that much about the sport.

Oz I think over here at least he has a lot of support,he played it by the rules and as we know us Brits love that. There does sound like there is a history between him and Pakistan though. Can't say i know much about there previous problems, but if you refuse to come out and play you forfeit the match right?.Also pretty arrogant to expect everyone else to hang on until you decide you are coming out to play.Childish i thought.

Brad, cricket (on the beach?) in Trinidad, not a bad life is it!

Rob,

I was 10 at the time, went to a British school (learned to count in Pounds, Shillings and Pence -- can still do so actually). However, the captial, Port of Spain, is up in the mountains, not by the beach. Don't think I actually got there as we only lived there for a year.

Alex,

This is a free forum and as long as we're not getting personal with each other, there's no reason to pull it.

I essentially agree with you. There's no one here who walks on water. If you don't like something or don't think it's made right, you should tell the maker, be that Andy, Rick, Ken or Ana. As Chuck says the best way to vote is with your dollars. If you don't buy it, the product will change or disappear.

I don't really think there's politics here, just a lot of impassioned people who like K & C. Nothing wrong with that. I also don't think people should be intimidated in saying what they feel. That's what a forum is about: saying what's on your mind. I don't think people mind that. And I hope this forum is about more than K & C. It may have started that way but it would be pretty boring if that's all we talked about.

As this forum seems to be growing in leaps and bounds, we need to keep it an open place, where people can say what they want about anything.

If the forum members stick to the statement you made above, things would be beautiful. But in reality there is intimidation, and there is politics. I have been subject to both of them. I am not complaining, just stating brutal honest reality. But lets keep working on it, because Treefrog has created a wonderful vehicle for our hobby, unlike any other I have ever experienced in any hobby I have been in to. It has given me some fun opportunities which I will be sharing with all of you in the near future, hopefully all for the betterment of the Hobby...FUN>>>FUN >>>>>FUN that all this should be. Alex

Alex,

You are, of course, right, but that's what we should strive for and indeed we should keep working on it. I know I'm biased but I think this board is and will become the board for the hobby.

I've had a dealer mention to me that when he goes to shows, countless number of people talk to him about the forum and that their favorite thread is the diorama thread.

I am proud of my "Get Real" attitude. Many members are now working on dioramas, no matter how bad or good, it is bringing the hobby to a higher level, and greater enjoyment to the members. As you said the dioramas section is the most popular, and we can thank Carlos for starting it. But unfortunately I had to endure much intimidation to get my point across. I experienced the same, in efforts to make changes on my Fire Dept., and after more than 20 years of struggle, mostly with tradition, all of the Departments operations are now developed by me and my staff. The intimidation here is light weight compared with what I had to go through with the FD. But I knew I was on the right track and I stuck to my guns Alex

Cricket, sniping, guns? OK I get the guns. Do they make cricket players? That might be a neat diorama. I saw an Indian movie based on a cricket match? Enjoyed the movie. Starting to understand the game a little, but more confused than ever:confused: One must always go to guns when losing missle lock!

K&C is us usually the hottest potato when it comes to opinionated dialog. If you stay out of confrontational discussions there is plenty to be learned here. I had some definite opinions of where the hobby should go when I first joined the Forum (Check my posts and you will see). I was seen as a bit of a radical and I took a lot of beatings, I was even going to quit the Forum. But I got a lot of private support from members who didn't want to rock the boat but agreed with what I stood for. (That should tell you a little about the intimidation factor). Anyway my dioramas will soon appear on several major Web Sites, with my Extreme realism message as the theme. So someone was listening and agreed with my message..... I Stuck to my Guns and my opinion is just as valuable as anyone else. Just because someone has been in this hobby longer, or has a bigger collection than you, dosen't make them any better than you, as a matter of fact I have found those types to be a bit tunnel visioned and narrow minded. After all this is just about toy soldiers it is not rocket science it is meant to be FUN Firebat

Welcome aboard CrawlingGuy! I love the suggestion for the dessicated corpses!! Talk about original! Hey Andy, you make some of those, and I'll buy them.

Thanks for the welcome, LB.

Darn, misspellings in first post (first of many) desiccated, Korps

Yes glad to you aboard CrawlingGuy.

Andy take note this is someone with something new to suggest.
Like Louis, I two would buy there if you make them.

No desiccated/skeletal corpses in the new desert stuff? I was really hoping for those! It would have got me into that entire line.

What was made is amazing, however...and I will not give up hope.

I like to see a seventeen pounder anti tank gun , comet tank & a Arnhem british para with a flame-thrower:D

I Am Sure Glad You Came Along Andy Because Its Like Christmas Every Month Waiting To See What Comes Next. It Takes My Mind Off The Everyday Stresses. And Although I Do Not Post Alot Of Threads Thanks Shannon For Creating This Forum. I Do Not Miss A Day Hitting It.

That would br great Louis. But I bet we see another article in Toy Soldier Magazine calling Andy a ghoul. :D

Dessicated corpses? You have to be kidding, that would be a terrible idea :(. If we want to make this completely realistic, how about a few severed corpses, a headless soldier, a burning tanker trying to escape a burning tank. At what point do you stop?

I think you should stop just short of the defecating in the woods guy.

I agreed with you Brad, but in other hand it is the reality of WAR my friend. I’m met a few years ago a WWII veteran and he told me that the worth thing in war was not to see dead people, but was to smell then. Imagine hundreds of theses desiccated corpses all over the place in a hot summer day, he said it was unbearable.

He described as the smell of dead.

Cheers :)
