Got this figure as a gift back around 1995. My wife bought it at an `unknown' Soldier Shop in Manhattan; somewhere around 5th Avenue & 55th St. The store which specialized in Russian figures has long since closed.

Thing is that I kept lowering the price and now it's down to $100 and there is still no interest! ^&confuse

At this point I'm just curious why a Russian made figure as detailed as this seems to have no appeal..

Anyone have an idea as to why?

As with most, the Russian figures aren't really moving on the secondary market either. Additionally, this is an HM figure. While still good sculpting and nice painting, they aren't at the level of Aeroart, Vityaz, etc. HM was sort of a secondary side project of Arsenyev - sort of like the Marco Polo collection was for Aeroart. If you look around eBay, you'll see many Russian figures that just keep making the rounds and get relisted week after week. So, basically, the reason i see is it's just a tough market with not many buyers

With regard to your question about the appeal of this very nice figure I have a few thoughts. Since August 2015 we have been liquidating one of the largest St. Petersburg collections in the U.S. We have sold over 1900 figures of all makes and time periods. The market is there for these figures but it is soft to a point as Zach said. An example is an AeroArt piece that is retired but still available on their site for 159.00US. We sold this figure mint in box and was able to sell it for 95.00US. The secondary market for figures of this quality is there. However, realize that as a seller my purchasing of such a collection could never approach retail prices. I have to make a profit for the time, materials, repair, and loss to sell such a collection. Also one must buy the whole collection and take the good, bad, and the ugly so to speak. However, with regard to your piece a price range of 69.00US to 89.00US might be more attractive to buyers. You have to determine if you can live with this type of discounting for this very nice piece.

I was given that kit last year from a friend of mine who found it in a shop somewhere in Europe.

When I finish him, and an Empress Dragoon by the same maker, I'll post them in the Painting Section of The Forum and show off my work
