French line troops (1 Viewer)

Great job Tim ! Line Fusiliers? Did HAT make those? Oh, I see, you used Wurttemburg/ Bavarians? Good idea!
I got 32 Heavy cav from Ken at ALL THE KINGS MEN. Dremeling off the TSSD saddlery . Quite a chore but they work together fine.
I sold off all my ACTA French line. I'll steal your idea for making them out of Hat figs. Waterloo/ June will be here before we know it.Sure doesnt look like it on your side of the Rocky's though!

Thanks Scott! I used the Wurttemberg figures but the front chest detail is a bit different so I covered it over with 2 part putty and reworked it a bit. I also reworked the cuffs and cut off the swords and added a drinking gourd where the swords where.
I thought about trying to remove the second strap on the figures also but that would have been a lot of work on the amount of figures that I did. These are close enough for me. On the Hat greatcoat french figures I just cut off the the grenadier shoulder fringe and left the swords. The supply depot had extra stock that week and the first 100 fusiliers got swords that week!:rolleyes2::tongue:

I also did a couple of your french castings up as fusiliers also. I still had a few kicking around that I never finished painting, so I pulled them out and gave them the same treatment. They have the right coats already, I just had to remove the shoulder work. I used a hobby knife and the metal came off better then I thought it would. I wish I still had a few of the marching and advancing poses left and a few of the dead and wounded, I might have to send you an order soon but I have to lighten the load on my painting table a bit first. I still have 20 more of those Carabiniers to go and another 30+ of these french line not to mention the piles of other half painted figures!

I also used a couple of Airfix figures but I removed there heads and added new metal ATKM heads and I cut off the tiny muskets and replaced them with new ones cut from hat figures, I might have to dig up a few more of those out of my plastic figure tubs
Those 3 were kicking around in my conversion parts bin and I was to lazy to go searching for more.

Have to hand it to you Fish a lot of work has gone into all that!.....both the conversion work and the very detailed painting.
Be great if there was a good set of French Fusiliers on the market in 54mm and in plastic....I really think hat should have made these a few years back when they started there run of pumping out there Nap sets.......after all Fusiliers make up a huge chunk of French column's.
Im a bit rusty on 54mm Naps but have had the urge recently to paint a bunch up...Just something easy hat's Prussians and a few greatcoat French {middle guard}.

Still painting and converting! I finished up another batch of these guys, but I still have about another 40 or more still on the paint table.
I mixed in a few of Britains line fusiliers also this time.

Good to see you posting again Fish.

Brad

Thanks brad, been bored lately and started digging through some old stuff and got the toy soldier bug again. I even dug out a kilted vampire figure and a Brad figure in my digging! What a flash back!
