"The attempt on Hitler’s life on 20 July 1944, was the seventeenth known occasion that someone had tried to kill Hitler. Unlike other attempts however this, the 20 July Bomb Plot, was the most intricate, and involved plans for a new Germany following the successful accomplishment of the mission".

As you can see below, Col. Claus von Stauffenberg placed his bomb-laden briefcase close to Hitler as he studied the operational maps at his headquarters in the "Wolf's Lair" in East Prussia. {sm2}

Best regards

Another wonderful representation of a pivotal moment of history, Enrico.
Has it ever been determined (and documented) who was standing where when the bomb actually went off?

I know that that table was a massive wooden type, with thick legs, but only having his pants shredded by the blast sort of indicates that Hitler had moved away from the detonation point .... too bad!

Hi LaRRy,

thank you once more for your support :rolleyes: I completely agree with you: it's one of the many mysteries of Hitler's history. {sm3} Wouldn't it be great to discover the truth in that matter? {sm4}

Cheers

Enrico :rolleyes2:
