Just completed my second painting project! Like with the first one I mentioned previously in this forum section I chose to do another great Poste Militaire 90mm figurine kit: The French Hussar - 1st Regiment - 1804 (I am actually planning to get and do all PM Nap figurines - I am just missing two). Here is below a few phases of this project from beginning to the final result (and yes I think I have improved my eyes rendering skills with this one). On to the next one!

Hi, here is some pics of my latest painting project. Like with the previous one, I picked another great Poste Militaire 90mm figurine: The French Chasseur A Cheval In Full Dress (FCC/1). This is actually one of my favorites in the PM catalogue. The sabretache challenged me a little bit but overall it turned out pretty nice! On to the next one!

Nice work,

keep on posting them, as I love seeing other people's work.

I currently have a Stadden 90mm French Hussar on my painting table today, he's going to be from the 5th Regt,

so I'll show you that later this week, I hope when he's done :)

Glad you're finding them addictive Groggy!:D - and yes, you will find that they get easier as your skill levels improve with practice. You are improving very quickly with each figure - so I think that I can permanently welcome to the Painter's Club. Well done indeed. jb

Thanks John, Johnny and all for the nice words and support. I read a lot about the painting process and technics before jumping in and do appreciate your tips! Using the right paint, brush and tools also helps a lot. This is actually a lot of fun and even my wife who always complains that there are already too many TS in the house acknowledges that the result is pretty good. I set up my painting shop in the playroom since the kids are now in college...:smile2:

Hi all,

Here is the last addition to my painting projects! This time I took a little break from Poste Militaire and turned my attention to Le Cimier. Since I have always been fond of Napoleonic oriental uniforms (mamelukes, etc.) I picked the Tartar Lithuanian Officer 1813 (FP3 - 90mm) from Le Cimier (Sculpt from Robert Matcrowski). Here are a few pics from beginning to end result:

Thanks all for the nice comments. This was a fun figure to do! I am working on another oriental Nap one from Le Cimier. Stay tuned!

Hi all, here is my latest production! With this one I stayed on the oriental side of the Napoleon uniformology with a Trooper of the Dromedary Regiment in Egypt (1800) - FP5 from Le Cimier.

The 90 mm sculpt is from R. Marchrowski like the previous one I did. Here is a few pics from beginning to end.

With the next one, I will be moving my brushes back to Poste Militaire!

Please find below my latest production: Empress Dragoon Trumpeter 1807-1810 - TED/1 from Poste Militaire, casting from Ray Lamb. This is another favorite of mine in their great catalogue. I had already his drinking companion (on the left hand side with the black bicorne hat) in my collection (French Trumpeter 1st Reg Dragoons - Elite Co. - FTD/1) but he felt lonely so I had to do something :wink2::wink2: As you can see I also added a few items to the table (pichet, etc.) that I found on Ebay. Hope you like it. With the next one I will go back to Le Cimier. Stay tuned!

Ok, here is my latest production (got a little behind due to my trip to France and Spain). For this one I went back to Le Cimier with their Officer of the Carabiniers 1810-1815 - 90mm - Ref Oscar, Sculpt by Charles Conrad. I really like the red copper cuirasse of this elite unit's uniform. Here are a few pics from beginning to end:

Very nice! Thanks for posting!

Super stuff Grognard. Great result on the Carabinier cuirass. I have always found it really hard to achieve a believable finish on large areas of metal but you have managed it. :).

Best

Hi, with Summer getting to an end (IOW rain is back in Seattle), it's back to school/college for the kids and back to my brushes for me (besides work of course:wink2:). Here is my latest addition to my painting production line: Horse Grenadier Officer REF OGRE - 90mm/1:18 scale from Le Cimier, sculpt by Charles Conrad. Here is the result from beginning to end:

Here is my latest production. For the first time since I started painting, I didn’t choose to do a French unit but a British one. It’s also not from Poste Militaire or Le Cimier like the ones I have done so far but from Almond Sculptures in their 90mm range: AS/A22 British Heavy Cavalry - 1st Royal Dragoons Trooper, Campaign Dress, 1812-15 . What I enjoy with painting kits like this one is that it allows me to produce figures that are not mass produced which makes the result even more fun and unique. I may be wrong but I don’t know any manufacturer who produces this British cavalry unit painted. Please see pics below from beginning to end. Hope you like it…

Here is my latest production! After painting many TS from various Napoleonic units, I had to do the man itself. This is now mission accomplished with this excellent 90mm Andrea Miniatures piece (one of the best rendering of the Emperor in kit IMHO). This beautiful vignette is inspired by Delaroche’s famous painting: “Napoléon à Fontainebleau - 1814”. The sculpt is from Carlos Andrea itself! Ref S8-F18. Here is the result from beginning to end. It was a fun one to do especially the hard wood floor! Hope you like it!

Nice work indeed !!!

I love the way you painted the flooring, it looks So realistic, especially when the figures is painted matte, and the floor looking like its been waxed :)
Well Done !!
