Time to convene the village court yet again for this latest blasphemy.:mad:
What about Flying Tigers, Sands of Iwo Jima, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Rio Bravo, The Searchers, Blood Alley, The Quite Man, The Fighting SeaBees, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, The Green Berets, Fort Apache, Chisum, Hondo, The Fighting Kentuckian, They Were Expendable, Return To Bataan, Flying Leathernecks, McLintock, Donovan's Reef, to mention only a few, and who could ever forget the cameo appearance as a Roman Centurion in, was it Ben Hur? "Truly, this waahs thaah Saahn of God". That's all he said, but aah, he said it sooooooo well. ;);)
So all in all, we'll allow you around 30 seconds to present the case for the defence, and after careful consideration of all the evidence, it'll be off to the hanging tree toot de sweet for you my good man........!!!!!
Cheers

Hee hee!.My only defence m'lud is that in all the films M'learned Harry doth list,John Wayne played one single role...that of John Wayne. An actor by definition must take on many roles and play many different parts.I humbly submit that the Duke was as good at acting as i am at one legged wing walking. For an example of ruining a scene with heroic over acting i petition thee to study yee olde film 'The Longest day'.Some truly awful acting from Mr Wayne. The scene on the makeshift stretcher is truly laughable, you could tell he was dying to wave his men forward with the words 'Wagons Roooooooolllllll'.:D I am sorry m'lud but Jennifer Anniston armed with a bottle of Whisky and ten grand of K&C UK vouchers could not convince me John Wayne was a good actor.A Star and a Legend yes,a good actor Nooooooooo!:D

I rest me case me Lud!

Rob, while (like Jack Nicholson) John Wayne often played himself, his performance in the Quiet Man (one of my favorite movies of all time, despite the fact that I don't have a drop of Irish Blood) convinced me that he can act. Watch that movie (if for nothing else, because Maureen O'Hara is very easy on the eyes) and then maybe just maybe you might give him a little credit as an actor. I also love Victor MacLaughlen as Red Will Danahee, and the little Irish character actor who played McAleen Flynn.

Yes i agree Louis,i'm only kidding really.I do think he could act i just don't think he was up with the best.He was very good indeed in True grit and i did love some of his westerns.Trouble is Louis when i was growing up the main man in westerns was Clint, and then his Dirty Harry films were good too.I meant no insult to the Duke,he couldn't get to his legendary status without acting.:)

Hmmmmm......Despite the further derogatory comments in the post before Louis's, which shall surely ensure an eternity of hard labour in purgatory, the village court has decided to let you off with 24 hour in the stocks - this time.
Don't EVER take the Duke's name in vain again if you know what's good for you, miserable sinner. And BTW, you'll be liable to 400 hours community service in Granny Scrott's hoose if you ever slag off "Kelly's Hero's" again, an-all....!!!!
Okay, next case.

Cheers....:D:D:D

Rob,
Forget Maureen O'Hara - difficult I know. Check oot the 1/2 hour fisticuff session between the Duke and Victor MacLaughlen, Surely the best fistfight in movie history.
Mind you, come to think of it, I'd swoop the fistfight for 30 seconds with the lush Maureen O'Hara - anytime......!!!!!

Cheers...:D:D:eek:

Jennifer Anniston armed with a bottle of Whisky and ten grand of K&C UK vouchers could not convince me John Wayne was a good actor.

"Oh Yes She Could"
Cheers...:D:D:D;)
