My 11 year old son has a great interest in WW 1. For Christmas he got a great book on the German soldiers called Sturmtruppen by Ricardo Recio Cardinal. What a great book with some really great photographs and text. I’ve always been a WW 2 guy so this is new road for me. I’ve come across another book called German Assault troops of WW 1 by Thomas Wictor. Kind of a pricey book. Want to see if anyone has this book and would recommend it. Maybe another title that covers German units photographs weapons etc.

Agree on the Sturmtruppen book. I've had it for a while and it is really well done with beautifully reproduced photos. Don't have the Wictor book but there is a book titled 'The German Army in the First World War: Uniforms and Equipment' by Jurgen Kraus. It is a huge and expensive production, over 600 pages and $150+. The publisher Schiffer (who does the Wictor book) also has other Imperial German Army photo books regarding uniforms and equipment. -- Al
