How about if Andy made some civilian figures for WW2?:D:eek::D:cool:

I think they'd mix really well with the new French resistance figures, like civilians about to be shot and the resistance saving them:D:D:D:D:cool::eek:

Re: Not a Suggestion...But an Idea:D!

Hey bud-

I can certainly appreciate your enthusiasm and energy for the WW2 figures but I think that suggestion would be way too over the top- that suggestion of the "almost shot civies" would just be very counter constructive and I believe, would torpedo a lot of KC's credibility. KC has taken a lot of hits over the years with the "bloodied figures" and the recent "Gestapo Arrests" - this one would just be, shall we say, out of the realm of "fair play". Don't take it personally, I admire your creativity, I just think this one is out of bounds.

However, that isn't to say the idea should be shelved too. I think perhaps some farmers or maybe some townspeople with bottles of wine to offer to some paras would be a possibility intriguing to some collectors but direct civilian violence, even having miniature children (ie, refugee families and such) would be crossing the line.

The WW2 ranges, along with many others, don't really lend themselves to civilian offerings, like the Egyptians do. The French Resistance fighters will work well with British or American paras and other troops.

Take care- keep the ideas coming!!

I was also thinking of civilian figures but poses like waving to the troops or walking down the street.

Scott,

Although you have a lot of good suggestions, I believe Chris is right. The heat that Andy took with WS 91 and the speculation about the factory diorama being an extermination center would only be intensified.

I KNOW BUT A QUIT A CAN'T GET BACK INTO THE FORUM, IT'S GOT WEIRD, N NOT AS FUN AS AT 1ST:eek::(

Hello Scott-

If you took my comments as criticism then I am truly sorry. I was hesitant to comment as it was for fear of upsetting you, which, I appear to have done. Please don't let my comments- those on your threads or other persons threads- be the basis for your deciding to leave the forum. I think you are wonderful person- I recall sending you a PM to that effect sometime ago. My opinion hasn't changed, nor has your recent idea affected that. Your contributions are very valuable to myself and other members here on the forum.

For what it is worth, yes, Brad was correct. I recall quite vividly the firestorm of conflict that the Gestapo Arrest caused and was trying to communicate that as a hurdle to further exploration of the civilians idea. I do believe though that there is some merit, as I said initially, to your idea.

It appears as if, based on your responses and some of the responses I have received in the past couple days on some posts that I am overstepping things and will need to tone them down in the future.

Again, please accept my apologies and do reconsider not sticking it out with us.

Take care and be good,
CC

LOL, nah it wosn't that, it's just for a while the forum has been a bit borin n it's rubbish because it was fun at 1st now people are arguin and people are leaving it:confused:

LOL, I think this Forum has caught a tummy bug lol, or maybe it has a cold:eek::D Maybe I'm not well, but I'm just so bored with the Forum now, maybe it's because it's just after new year and everything's just beginning to start working again, but be sure it's no faults of the cool cats who are always posting on this Forum:eek::D

EVERYONE'S STILL COOL:D:D:eek::D:cool:

i meant like maybe some normal civilians walking about or working and some German soldiers maybe sitting at a table lazing about, and we could have some resistance figures coming from out of nowhere and shooting the Germans, just so the civilians won't be bothered by them anymore:D:eek::cool::D

Scott,

I'm glad you're not leaving. I got really scared there for a second because us old timers need some young blood:)

I think that everybody needs to take a break from forums once in a while (even me) otherwise it does get boring. Also, it's hard getting back into the swing of things after vacation and this being the first full week back in the New Year.

I think some Dutch (or other national group) civilians welcoming the troops in Market Garden for example, with orange flashes, scarves and armbands would be great. But would they sell?

Hey Scott
Stick with it; over the festive period alot of people go away or are with family and it is not so easy to talk K&C with you guy's on the forum.
The forum is only what we make it......boring or otherwise......I think we have a load of fun on here keeping Brad on his toes plus it is informative.
Just have a laugh when the old boy's argue......some of them could do with being more mature like you!!! :D
Have a great 2008
Bob

What heat did K&C take for the Gestapo arrest? And what about an extermination center or factory? I am still fairly new to K&C and was surprised to hear about this. I beleive jazzeum mentioned it.
Thanks
Andy

Some believed that the scene showed a resistance fighter following interrogation and that he was taking out to be shot. The diorama included a factory. However, some opined that it was really an extermination camp. In my view that was contrived but it was a source of debate. If you go back to early 07, January through February timeframe, you should be able to find the thread.

It certainly did stimulate some debate here, but thats whats so good about the forum, you get to hear all different opinions. Now the resistance figures are being released and you can set them up in an ambush scenario, the Gestapo set has more appeal to me.

Rob

Would it be Cool  or What if Andy made German Gestapo figures getting shot ??

They could go with the new resistance fighters !! I think that could be a big seller !!

Put me down for a set Ron,its a cool way to remember the bravery of the resistance.
