I have been looking over all my Curio Cabinets and adjusting my displays - and I started to wonder how do others display their treasures ??

My are in Battle Scenes or some type of Action Display. I generally like my displays to show action or tell a story. What about the rest of you guys??

I also have come to the decision that I need another Curio Cabinet for the Living Room ;)

Ron,
As you know, due to lack of space in my cave, I prefer to display our collection in mini-diorama settings mounted on the wall with shelf supports. While I'm not adverse to action scenes, I like to try and set a mood and tell a story at the same time as well.
Of course, our SOHK and IC collection is different and these are displayed in Chinese "antique-style" cabinets in the living room. We also have an "antique-style" table on order for displaying the Manchu Wedding Procession. Which reminds me, I wonder if its been delivered yet. Must get around to calling my Precious Little Lotus Blossom and find out....:eek::D
Cheers

I solved my display problem.
For now anyway.

I like this type of acrylic wall mounted cabinet. It makes the figures look like they're floating, and easy to view them from all angles. Here is one of my display walls.

lenswerks, those are great looking cabinets. Did you have them build by a cabinet maker or are they a stock product anyone can buy ? They look like custom to me.

Rather nice to say the least.........but all those bare shelves .

Jeff

About the bare shelves –

Stuff in route.
Stuff preordered.
Stuff not yet released.
Stuff still in boxes waiting for me to make a base.

PS: Sometimes I nap in that bed and dream about toy soldiers and ladies I've known.

The other side of the room --

I thought I would share an exciting display related anecdote from today. I currently have about half of my collection displayed in several small, (12x6x24 inches or so) 4 shelf curios on the floor in our bedroom. The other half of the collection is boxed and in the closet waiting to be rotated periodically. So my wife calls me at the clinic and says she is at her favorite kids boutique in Oshkosh and its going out of business and she is selling all of her display furniture and so on. She figured I would be interested in the 100 year old oak and beveled glass display counter for my collection and did I want her to buy it for $300 USD. It is 8 feet long and 4 feet tall and gorgeous. That really made my day. Now just have to figure out where in the world I will set it up. :)

Mister Dave.

I have to collect some more and buy some Gittens diorama's first before displaying

To figurenteufel,

THat's an impressive collection you've got.

Would you mind showing pictures of how well the King and Country soldiers match with your Collector's Showcase Reich Chancellory Diorama in regards to scale?

How come something like that never happens to me? What a fantastic piece of luck. You can leave it at my house until you figure out what you are going to do with it. :)
