Discussion on a FB group has led to some uncertainty. The picture with 4 figures I originally thought was all Cherilea. The figure on the right has the name stamped on the base. The 2 on the left have the name handwritten on the base. However, there has been a challenge claiming the two with...
I considered that possibility. But, that leaves me with a real mystery here. I'm pretty sure the only other Durbar figures I have are from Britains and he looks even less like he comes from that line of toy soldiers.
I know you guys have been sitting on pins and needles to find out what happened. So, let me say that there is success and tragedy. I was able to track down the gentleman who received the Fruit and Vegetable Seller set and the fire breather will be reunited. However, the officer that belongs...
Mike, you are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you. That's unfortunate if the fire breather goes with D8/B. That set is already out the door. I might be able to figure out who it was. I'd like to get it to him so the set is complete. I'm trying to keep the integrity of complete sets. Would...
Marlborough was one of the first makers that I tackled when trying to match up loose figures with the correct boxes. These guys are the stragglers for which no box exists. Trying to figure out who they are and whether or not they belong together. The lancers, for example. There are two...
Found my way back to sorting through my LB figures. I have quite a few more that are obvious Britains bases. But, I also found a certificate in one of the boxes confirming the contents. It also confirms the baron's telling of the Liberty Bell Shrine origins.
Interesting. All these figures have LB in cursive script on the base and I have quite a few London Bridge boxes. I knew that Ron was using the Britains spare parts that he was licensed to sell. But, I believe someone had told me that as long as there was a certain percentage of original work...
I have a few sets of figures from London Bridge when they were based in Emmaus, PA. Are they still producing their own line under the new ownership in TN? I know personal preferences vary by collector, but, did these figures ever generate much interest? Pics of some of the sets can be viewed...
I want to thank everyone on here for the assistance towards identifying the pieces in this collection. It is not 100% complete. But, I have uploaded quite a bit of what's available ahead of the MFCA show this weekend. A price guide is available upon request if you are not able to stop by our...
Edit ... The SOTW IDs in my previous reply run left to right. Dyslexics of the world untie!!!
Edit 2 ... I've been told that the Dorset figures I claimed to be Boers could in actuality be Sudan War Sailors.
