  • Great to hear from you, Dave. I'd be delighted to meet when you are next in my area. As you know, I'm sure, Germany is home of many great flat editors, and there are some dynamite exhibits at Plessienburg Castle, Waterloo and elsewhere. I envy your chance to see some of these sights. August, 2011 is the next bourse in Kulmbach - you'd find it interesting I'm sure.
Hi Dave - thanks, next Kulmbach show is in 2011...! Btw your new pics are very nice ! best regards Marcus
    Hi Guys,

I added some more photos to the Durbar album and will add more soon. Seems like there is never enough time to get any of this stuff done.
    Hi Emily,

Would like to see some more of you progress photos funny how the mules are all missing the same ear, I wonder if thats an issue of weakness due to the sculpt or just plain old hard paly on the part of some little boys.

Thank you for the info-you sure know your stuff! I'll post them when I finish them (we're talking glacial progress). I have four mules, all from different sources, all of which are missing their RIGHT ears, seemingly a statistical anomaly! Thanks again, Emily
Hi Dave, I was rather shocked, when I saw your albums, esp. Delhi Durbar  -wow, great, wonderful :D:eek::D:eek:- thank you for your warm wellcome - your German is better than my english I believe :).
Well Grafenwoehr is NOT a place, I have good memories, because I was there when I was a panzergrenadier. I had to shoot with the Schuetzenpanzer Marder. That was in the summer of 1987. It was very, very hot and there was nothing than sand & soldiers & tanks....
I live in the south of Germany, in Boeblingen, just 15 kms of Stuttgart. We have here also a great Panzerkaserne and the Patch barracks.
Do you have any glossy figures of Kingcast ? Hard to find !
    best regards from Germany
    Hi Dave
Thank you for your comments re: my collection of the Dehli Durbar. You have a very impressive collection of Durbar.
I enjoy working on dioramas, very challenging at times and inspiring to see that other collectors share the same interests.
    Regards
    Auguste
    Good morning, Dave.

I only saw a tree at Dutkins from Marlborough, but I really like the palms that Jim H. has been using on his Delhi Durbar display. I did send him an e-mail yesterday inquiring about its source.

Your display might also enjoy some green - as a matter of fact, our display concepts are very similar - a long ledge. I am therefore sure, I will borrough heavily from you.

I would appreciate any help on the Delhi Durbar book by Wheeler. Oddly enough, there is a 1991 reprint floating in some stores in India. I might drop them an e-mail to check whether their website inventory is still up-to-date. But they might be the only source right now.

By the way: You impressed me with your IT knowledge. Do you think you can extract a Delhi Durbar photo from a pdf file and convert it to jpg? I do not seem to have neither the knowledge nor the software to do that.

    Enjoy your weekend.
    Hi Dave,

How's it going? Did you manage to have a look at the new Durbar elephant by Britains? Would like to hear your views on it. I personally think it looks amazing and am looking forward to seeing future releases in this series.

    Hope all is well

    Take Care

    Scott

No toy soldiers on the Horizon at this stage , I,m at the point now where

Dare I say i,m a collector who,s content with his current collection.

    cheers Rob
Hi Dave, thank you for your kind words. Yes, you are absolutely right, I purchased three frames specially made for britains limited editions as backing. Marcus
