Well it is all over, just finished a shortened 4 hour shift, it is very surreal.

No Worries there! been trained that way in the army. I am a Regimental Sergeant Major, in the Army reservve up here in Canada.

Be safe as you progress in your career, take care of your men, and to be a great leader, don't forget you were a private once also, and treat the men accordingly.

Hey I ws on here and thoguthh I owuold ccongratulate you on your retirement...well done chief! Me? you've passed the torch;yesterday I worked my third 24 as an acting Captain and had my first -first due in structure fire. Went great!

City of Paterson NJ.... Paterson is the 3rd Largest City in NJ, with a population of 185,000 packed into 10 Sq Miles of tenements and heavy industry. Our typical fire is a 2 1/2 story frame with a heavy fire condition, extending into the B and D exposures. I have pulled up on several jobs, with multiple 2 1/2 and 3 story frames fully involved extending to the A-B-C and D exposures. We are also known for our Large Mill fires. The worse of which involved 3 150' by 300' Mills, 9 Houses, a lumber yard and a Gas Station. Embers also ignited 11 other working fires. Gang Wars have intensified as of late, which has upped the murder rate and created another source of various fire activity.
