  • Thanks Rob I new I could count on you for encouragement, and you are right people are strange.I am going to the dinner in Brisbane for K&C and I now what the dinner figure is.I think you would like it and if you send me a Email I will tell you and If you don't have it I will give it to you.I am not into toy soldier collecting for the money and you would like this figure more than me.Simmo.

    Hi Rob,
When you can load some photos to the Artillery fan album, it will be great to see them and exchange data....Not to mention get more people aware of them and learn to appreciate these great sets.

    Hi Rob,
Any chance of you having come across TAW Artillery sets or TAW and CJB Model vehicles?
In case you do, please let me know.

hello rob i have responded to your pm hope you understand it ok ,scale model collection is very unique and niche but what you pay for is a one off piece of art,so if there is anything particular that your after i may just have one ,i have over 200 completed models in my collection so buying and swapping between us both would not be a problem for me.Last time at bovvy a chap from gloucester, came to visit and bought 10 and then another 10 in a further visit "the Twat" lol
have checked out the photo rob a real piece of history, must get back to bovvy for another look ,hope you are well ,cheers ken
Hi Ken,thats quite normal actually.Lots of people just check out your pages to read about you,or look at your photo albums etc.You will find this number goes up and up over time and its just people 'calling by' really. The book sounds good, always good to hear a privates view of the battle.

    Cheers

    Rob
hello rob tried photobucket, but they were directing me to subcribe to all sorts, dont know if i was doing it right, facebook is so much easier, log on attach and go ,will attempt to send the photos thro email to K&C UK perhaps tony can post them onto the forum when he has time, will let you know what happens ,cheers ken
hello rob thanks for the message ,no problem the books will be here when you are ready, iam sure you will want them when the new Arnhem stuff comes out,but i may have to charge you for them ,then,LOL keep well ken
hello rob,i will be going to K&C HQ on tuesday of next week to pick my USAAF figures ,so i can take one of the books with me ,if you want one quickly, may be a good idea to ask tony if he will send it on to you ? Roy Urquharts book is interesting, describes his time out of the battle in good detail and John Fairleys book settles once and for all what happened to goughs disputed missing jeeps,as referred to in "A Bridge Too Far" by Cornelius Ryan,i also have Geoffrey Powells "Men At Arnhem" which describes the action of Hacketts 4th Parachute Brigade around Oosterbeek,in particular the 156th battalion, but if memory serves he uses false names in the narrative to protect the real people in certain incidents described within, similar to "The Cauldron" by Zeno, decisions decisions, cheers ken
Alternatively if you cannot get there tell me what you want first to read and i will ask Tony Neville to post it on to you, have a good think and let me know ,ps do you have any of these books as a matter of interest ? cheers ken
hello rob,i know you like the subject of Arnhem,i have an old out of print book titled Remember Arnhem by John Fairley,a history lecturer from Glasgow University,it mainly centres around Freddie Goughs recce units but does include the main elements of the battle,if you have not read it ,i will happily lend it to you and will bring it with me to the K&C bash,i also have "it was like this" booklet from Arnhem itself,i got it at the Hartenstein some26 years ago ,god where has all that time gone? you may have this one if you have visited the Arnhem battle sites,i also have an original copy of R E URQUHARTS book on the battle ,thats an interesting account from the CO of the battle,if these are of interest to you you can certainly lend them, then you can say you have read them,if there is any other book on Arnhem youre after and cannot find let me know i may have it as it was my main WW2 interest in the 70s,cheers ken
hello rob, hope you can make it,if not enjoy your visit to normandy, yes the K&C HQ is amazing the displays are awe inspiring and a tribute to mike and tony and whats great is its on my doorstep which allows me to visit the site as often as i like,so i can dribble at the mouth as often as i can take it,take care ken
