Good question, that looks like a modern repaint to me, and there's always the exception to the 'rule' where WW2 paint schemes are concerned.

This would be a great addition to the train section of my layout. I just need to check it out for placement on "live" track. As far as paint scheme, my research showed that factory grey was also used on the Panzerzug Typ 42/44. Does anyone know when this will be released?

That’s captured Soviet version, there’s a couple remaining all summer camo.

That’s soviet green, after reuse being captured. It was ostfront camo prior. There are several preserved camo trains still in existence. Included B&W photo of actual camo train in 1942, plus one preserved and illustrations according to German field manual.
