Just a new Trophy subject we haven’t discussed before: the Trophy Elite line—supposedly the top of the quality range, as the name implies. Not many figures were made in this line; I believe EL30 was actually the very last one.

I’ve put together a list of the models I know of. Can you help fill in the blanks? :)
  • EL5 – General Gordon Khartoum
  • EL6 – Napoleon Mounted on Marengo
  • EL7 – Kitchener at Omdurman
  • EL8 – Captain James Skinner
  • EL9 – The Duke of Wellington (Mounted)
  • EL10 – Sir Thomas Picton 5th Div. Commander
  • EL11 – General Armistead Give Them Cold Steel
  • EL12 – George Washington Mounted
  • EL14 – Florence Nightingale
  • EL15 – Robert E. Lee
  • EL17T – Bedford Forrest Attacking Union Artillery Soldier
  • EL20 – Compte de Lassale
  • EL22 – New York Fireman 9/11/01
  • EL23T – Tom Burney Terry's Texas Rangers
  • EL28 – 17th Century Polish Winged Hussar
  • EL30 – Winged Polish Lancer Leaping over Cannon Set

Despite having two of these sets (EL5 General Gordon Khartoum and EL22 New York Fireman 9/11/01) I had no idea this Trophy Elite line existed.

EL 4 Napoleon
EL 29 Lt. Col. De Salis and Drummer Boy (Crimean War range)6

Here is a Special Commission of set # EL29, CORNET HENRY JOHN WILKIN - 11th HUSSARS and his horse

Cheers

Martyn :)

Never seen it in that color. Very nice. Len made figures/models in various colors.
Thank you. I purchased it in 2019 and it was from the collection of the late Sam Floca. I had only ever seen the red version of this elephant before I found this one. The fan bearers that came with this set are also different to the fan bearers that come with the standard red version. The fans themselves are more curved and appear to be of a thinner tin material compared to the flat semi-circular thicker metal fans.

I believe you have a special PW1 – Prince of Wales State Elephant set. I remember seeing a version of this set with a blue carpet (or whatever the proper term is for the decorative covering placed on the elephant) that was sold on eBay. It also included a mounted figure.

The standard first version of this set came with tin fans, which were later replaced with solid lead ones to simplify and improve production.

Thank you for your message, I always thought the thinner tin fans were earlier prototypes so it’s good to know the reason for the change.
