N.F.L. 24-25 Season (1 Viewer)

The Rams choked away the game in Philly. A couple of obvious PIs that the refs let go at the end but those are the breaks when you play on the road.

Gee look who's got a horseshoe up their collective ***** this year; the Super Bowl Champion Iggles, that's who.

Imagine a Bills/Iggles Super Bowl, just swell.
 
The Steelers limp by yet again. Lots of mistakes in that game. Kind of an ugly season thus far, not really interesting to watch. NCAA much better.

We get together with about 15 people to watch football on Sundays; yesterday, I spent half my time out on my friends deck talking with people, would check in on the game from time to time to see either a penalty vs New England that extended a drive/negated a turnover, or a turnover that stalled out a drive/prevented a TD (one INT in the end zone, a fumble on the goal line), they are terrible, unwatchable really, after that horrible game, we watched the red zone and left about 6:30 or so..........I told my girlfriend this morning "If there are things you want to do going forward on a Sunday, let me know and we'll do it"................BORING is the one word that comes to mind.

Boring is the right word and "my team" came out ahead in that debacle. Just sloppy non interesting play. Maybe it will get better, but I watched that thing from "afar" myself on Sunday. 10 years ago, I would have been glued to see what Ben could do against Brady. Now, not so much and I know you can argue about player's ability, etc and that Brady was one of the greats so it would have been a better game..........Aaron Rogers is arguably one of the greats and is seemingly very healthy. I still think the quality and pace of play this season is abysmal at best.

forgot to ask you, why did the Patriots give up Peppers? He still looks ok to me, but again, what do I know?

At least the Pats had on those cool retro uniforms which looked nice. Too bad they also played like the retro Pats. I heard Disney is going to buy the rights to the NFL. Imagine how that will work out. Aaron Rodgers looks more and more like an old guy out tossing a few passes in his backyard. He has a zen-like quality at this point achieved only by those who have stopped caring.

Honestly, I have no clue as to why they let him go, he was one of their best players the past couple of years, which is like saying he's the tallest midget. Maybe it's one of those "He's not my guy, I'm the new coach, he's gone".............they can change coaches all they want, it's like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, they stink, they've stunk since Brady left, they will stink for years and years.

If you're going to wear the throwbacks, the least you can do is honor those teams and play like crap, their roster is hot garbage, they literally have zero real NFL talent, it's a pack of nobodies, on their way to no place.

I feel like that describes nearly 60% of the rosters in the NFL.

Rogers - I am just happy he actually throws the ball which is more than I can say for Wilson or Pickett the last few years! Still has some of that old magic but the whole team has a lot of holes literally and figuratively. Again, I watched it from afar and had to read most of the recap.

Look no further than the recent rash of injuries to QB's and the back ups who are now starting, talk about hot garbage talentwise, wow.

The Patriots had a fumble recovery inside the 20 negated due to a penalty, a Steelers drive extended due to a Rodgers "Flacco special" where he just heaved the ball downfield with no shot of being caught but it drew a flag, a penalty in the end zone on third down that resulted in a first and goal/TD vs a FG, a fumble basically on the goal line, by my count instead of a 21-14 loss, should have been a 28-17 win.

The bottom line is the Patriots have hardly any real NFL talent on their roster, which is why in truth they lost 21-14, they are incapable of recovering from so many mistakes.

I foolishly had them at 3-0 with my annual W, L, W, W, L game; I thought they'd finish 9-8, an outside shot of 10-7, now it's looking more like 6-11, 5-12, another lost year, another year of boring football.

The AFC East is pathetic, the Bills are 3-0, then behind them are a 1-2 team and two 0-3 teams, one more win by the Bills and they clinch the division.............;).
 
How about 3 blocked field goal attempts on the same day! When was the last time that happened, if ever? And when was the last time a team got 2 in one game?

Yeah, when that happens, call me crazy, but it doesn't pass the smell test...............is there holding going on so a player can blow through a gap, two in the same game...........again, something is not right there.

Yeah, one the first one the Eagles got, when viewed in slow motion, it looked like one of the defenders jumped a split second early. I was surprised that no official caught it, since at least one should have been looking down the line of scrimmage. The player wasn't the one who blocked the kick, though. On the second block, Davis got through a gap, half stepping, half leaping, but you're right, there could have been a hold (or two) that helped open that gap.

Of course, the Rams' Karty kicked both of those balls on a relatively flat trajectory, too, so they were more within reach.

But as far as stats (or trivia) go, that was the first time the Eagles blocked multiple field goals since 1975 (against the Giants). They were the fourth team since 2001 to block 2 and return 1 for a field goal.
I know the game had me reach for my heart medicine. Like watching Mitch Williams close a game, back in the day.

On one of the national shows I was watching, the debate was the Eagles are constantly committing a penalty on the tush push, a false start, both guards fire out first, then the ball is snapped, but it's never called.

On FG's, you can't blow up the center, not sure if they also did away with players leaping over blockers as well, when a block comes from either end, that's one thing, but up the middle tells me there is more to the story.
 
It isn’t just the crap on the field product, the coverage is even worse.

The Super Bowl favorite is whatever team wins the latest prime time game or the “hero” of that game is the next greatest ever.

For example, Seattle is not going to win it all and JJ McCarthy is not going to win 10 MVPs.
