Thanks, Joe!

Cannon is a BMC model I still need to paint up.
Very impressive work. Thanks for sharing. What do you use for ground work? I have tried several approaches, but I haven’t been completely satisfied with any of them.

Hi there!

Thanks for the compliments. My ground work is a mixture of celluclay, paint and various pigments traditionally used in 1/35 scale modeling and model rail roads.

Thanks for sharing. I have recently started using celluclay with Woodland Scenics ground cover. It works, but I haven’t achieved as fine a level of texture that you have. I will keep practicing with it.

Outstanding thread Jake. Very enjoyable to follow your progress.

I've used FloraFoam and CelluClay for many years for my ground base. A technique I learned from Ken Osen. FloraFoam is easy to shape (so much so than the typical insulation foam board) and the CelluClay is easily tinted with water based pigments. I still use Woodland Scenics turf for the first layer of ground cover. Then I follow up with applications of different colors and lengths of Static Grass for depth and detail.
