Absolutely, the experiences those men had to undergo can hardly be comprehended, they were so truly dreadful. I think the accurate depiction of that is one of the reasons the series was, and still is, so popular and well regarded. In many ways, in particular for an age group like mine with...

    Albert Blithe,Easy company.

Hi Rob, Was just rewatching this episode myself over the past week, was lucky enough to be able to find the DVD boxset in my local library! Yes, the Carentan episode is definitely one of the most outstanding ones in the series; along with the previous "Day of Days" episode depicting the night...

    WWI - Capitolron Diorama

That looks excellent, Saber, well done! The wood finish on that desk actually sets the figures off very nicely. Congrats, Molloy.

    New WS series

Hi Sahara, Like Harry said, the WS figures would work just fine for dioramas depicting some of the early to mid-war fighting on the Eastern front, probably up to and including the Battle of Kursk (July 1943) which had a very significant Waffen SS presence on the German side. As has been pointed...

    Poll: American Items

Evening all, The M3 Halftrack and the Airborne pack howitzer got my votes. The M3 because, along the jeep and the Sherman, it seems to have been one of the most ubiquitous US/Allied vehicles of the war, and the howitzer because, well, anything US Airborne from the period will always hold an...

Wwii Winter Collectors Requests To Andy

Hi Beaufighter, Thank you for the heads-up, wasn't aware at all that the Sherman was still available in some places, I assumed it was long since sold-out! Hmmm....quite tempting! Definitely with you on the release wait, not only is it important for collectors with interests in other areas...

Wwii Winter Collectors Requests To Andy

Hi all, Just getting started with this particular range; only got my first set (BBA025 "Moving Up the Line") earlier this month (check out the profile picture of me grinning ear to ear after purchase - taken outside Toysoldiers Paris!). Very, very impressed by what I've see so far though, so...

    your favorite war movie

Hmmmm.....not quite sure what worries me more; the fact that I've seen at least half of the films on that list, or that the fact that I haven't yet managed to catch the other half:D! As to an all-time favourite film though, it probably has to be Waterloo. Got that one on VHS one Christmas as a...

    Battle of Britain

How timely! I'm currently holed up in the library trying to study just that period in Irish history for upcoming college exams. As is obvious though from my presence here, the revision could be going a little bit better;)! Regards, Molloy.

    Future FOB

Yep, some of the initial British releases in this series really seemed to perfectly sum up the whole Dunkirk experience, didn't they?? Stumbling along with cigarettes clutched in their mouths, tired, grimy, some missing helmets, but all determinedly hanging on to their Lee-Enfields and Brens...

    WW1 Germans.

Absolutely; seeing the Dardanelles, Mesopotamia etc. campaigns getting the K&C treatment is certainly something to look forward to. You know your resolve will break sooner or later, Harry:D!! Seriously though, the more you contemplate possible future releases for this series the more you...

    WW1 Germans.

Afraid I can't comment directly on the General French figure as I don't have it, but in general, the KOSB releases to date are extremely well done, so it's a definite recommendation from me:)! With regards to personality figures, they can be very nice as stand-alone pieces, but personally I...

    WW1 Germans.

Absolutely! Mid to late war releases would be equally great in due time, but for now there's definitely no shortage of potential in the early war period. Curiously, as recently as a year or so ago, before this range was released, like a lot of people, my quintessential image of World War One...

    WW1 Germans.

Completely in agreement, Saber. Some French infantry in that early-war uniform of kepi, dark-blue overcoat, and red baggy trousers would really be superb. That outfit surely has to rank as one of the most distinctive (and joyfully impractical!) service uniforms of the past century. Cheers, Molloy.
