At binder's request, here's a poll for possible items that King and Country could issue as the prior poll was mostly of the Germanic tinge.

I voted for the Howitzer.

I'd also love to see an M16 quad .50 Halftrack, but the standard halftrack would also do very nicely.

Evening all,

The M3 Halftrack and the Airborne pack howitzer got my votes.

The M3 because, along the jeep and the Sherman, it seems to have been one of the most ubiquitous US/Allied vehicles of the war, and the howitzer because, well, anything US Airborne from the period will always hold an instant attraction for me - I'll blame Band of Brothers for that one!

Regards,

Molloy.

Another M-10  You American armor guys are hard to please, no wonder Andy makes so much German stuff ;) :D

well yes i have, but it is a very good poll,it's also neat to see what us new guys vote for,but i'll ease up on the old ones ha!!:) sammy

It's strange that the poll didn't generate many posts first time around

Per Sir Binder-the "Sherman Sultan"-I vote for a M4A3 With 76mm Gun (Battle of the Bulge) as well as for the 105 mm artillery set; casualties are always superbe diorama add-ons. The Figarti 155 mm which is stunning should keep collectors at bay. I assume that it too will probably sell out quickly.

M3 halftrack is the model i like to see com out .
richard:)

There weren't that many members then so I assume that after it was voted upon, it was forgotten until Sammy, our resident archaeologist :D, resuscitated it.

An OLD thread! Well, on the good news - in the intervening time we have received a revised M5A1 and an M10, we did get paratroopers with a 75mm howitzer, although they are in winter dress. Figarti will bring in the 155 gun and 21C has done both the 155 gun and 8" howitzer. So, not too bad!

oh yes, it's always worth a look to see what you guys were fighting about two or three years ago, some of those older threads there were definitly some fireworks:)...sammy

Sorry to ruin your fun, but this one didn't get too much attention and there was only one post (mine) until it was raised from the crypt!

Poll Results:

There is definitely a need for an M3A1 Half-Track and 105 mm Howitzer. These were classic American equipment in WWII used in both ETO & PTO. These 2 are long overdue! A WC(54?)Dodge Ambulance and and a closed cab GMC Truck (with tarp and clear windshield...just like the Opel Blitz) would make a great addition.

...without sounding like John G, how about an M32 Tank Recovery Vehicle? Honor Bound did the German TRV Berge Panzer why can't...maybe that's the HB surprise?

N-P,

The upcoming M4A1 would be a good start for an M32B1 - it has the early hull and no applique armor. Take the turret off and replace it with the M32's superstructure, change the bogies to the later VVSS type, add the recovery gear and voila!

I went with the obstacle clearers, though we all know the army did all the work :D

My top choice isn't on the list though- a squad of 442nd RCT Nisei's. Been calling for it for awhile now.
