    Project VS

I cut down the 1/24 scale couple by diminution (is this even a word,,,). Shortened all the limbs, replaced the head and hands with smaller 1/32 scale items. Then I repositioned all the right hand grouping including the horseman further back and the visual perspectives seem to work.

Hi John, Will be adding at least 30 more figs later! For now, I need to resize down the couple and shift the right grouping back. Hence I am increasing the depth of the base. Added another layer of base and puttied over.

    Project VS

Im going to focus more on this piece. I placed the base within the shadowbox and the fitting seems OK. I then took out the figures and started to fix their positions. Im very pleased with the group on the right. Notice a carriage? That is an old Historex piece about to be used for this scene.

Me too. It seems more elegant. BTW, the figures on that polish website. They look very similar to those 18-inch fabric-clothed figures that I saw at the Kunsthistorisches museum in Vienna. Those were made by a Helmut Krauss, who was featured in John Garratt's book on Connoisseur makers of...

    EK Samurai

Hi Brad, Thanks for yr comments. The pose looks like it should be holding a bow anyway. I'll be repainting the figure based on this illustration.

    EK Samurai

I realised that the bow is not a commercial item and was made by me from a cut thick wire bent to the right shape and wound with thin wire at intervals. A thin guitar string was added as a bow string. Then I added putty to bulk out the kimono sleeves. Also added a small white strip of metal...

And then I found this site. Beautifully made figures. Note that the Russian troops are wearing tight trousers with hussar legging boots. https://en.topwar.ru/137508-gorod-vroclav-bronzovye-gnomy-i-diorama-bitvy-u-raclavicy-chast-2.html

    Russian Line Drummer 1786-1796

Hi John, tx again. I took another look at my refs. This ugly uniform is from Potemkin's corp, From what I read, the overalls or leggings are generally wide, with lower leather reinforcements worn over short boots, a bit like the Antoine laSalle pantaloons. Although shown in the pics now and...
