WIP on this piece.

Some WIP. Gilt paint was added and the base undercoated.

I painted over the putty. Starting to come to the end point here. I will add a bldg to the right side to mask the other bldg edges.

The closeup is to check and adjust the smoke plumes here and there. Then the secondary base was wedged in tightly into the scene. The gaps were covered with cardboard pieces and puttied over.

The focus today is on this piece. So where am I going to get 10 FPW rifles? The French used the chassepot and the Prussians the Dreyss Needle gun. On the internet, both rifles look similar, slim and single bolt. So I selected mainly Airfix Jap Arikasa rifle which has a similar profile as a...

I have finally added some dust effects kicked up by the huge procession around the banners. I think I am satisfied now with the final result.

Hi Louis, thanks again for your endorsement. You obviously like the FPW period. Ive added some smoke effects and some more details such as backpacks and wreaths.

I'm now starting on two samurai figures. Both produced by Aitna Models.

Finished this figure and labelled. I wrote down some orders for the day....hahaha. What's next for this empire? I'll probably look at Empress Sisi or Franz Josef.

Ive att the wounded fig and cap into the scene. Will add the two dead figs upon near completion of the base. I still have to add 7 French guns, 4 Prussian guns, 2 French backpacks and a small cross into the scene. The life of a realist modeller... sigh..

Ive added groundwork to the bases. Painted more on the middle samurai. Presumably he will be my prototype for minamoto yoshitsune. The one with a spear will be his companion benkei.

Hi John, The fig is an Abyssinian warrior, probably a Ras (leader). It is produced by Aitna Models for one of their ranges "Kingdom". Rgds Victor

Finished the bkgd figures and a cap. Last items to be added will be more muskets.

Tightening up the details for the horse furniture. Added saddle bag straps.
