    Howdy foks!

Okay so that would seem to indicate that these are set to "friends only" or something. Any suggestions? I used the website software to upload the pics directly. Not hosted, except by Treefrog, I guess. MikeMiller, I added you as a friend so you can see, pending a fix of that. Thanks for...

    Howdy foks!

Greetings y'all! I am back amongst you fine people after yet another absence. Coaxed back by some emails from people asking for access to my IP photo albums, so here I am. The only trouble is, I am out of practice and cannot figure out exactly how to provide people access. Would you a few of...

    Catalog

To the best of my knowledge, Imperial is, in fact, still making their civilian Town and Around sets. Here are a few of the more recent T&A offerings from Imperial Productions; These are the "First Empire" T&A figures: 8. Gentleman w/ bicorn hat 6. "Salutations" 1. Lady w/ shawl 10 Gentleman...

    Paint variations ?

Hey Dave, Would love to see a few pics. I examined the sets in our collection for that deviation and only saw gold trim on the officers. Perhaps that was a miscue. I suspect that these sets were originally made during the fullest flurry of Imperial's heyday, when they actually had non-related...

    Paint variations ?

Hi folks, Sorry for the long absence again. It has been a time of flux here. Buying and selling houses, moving metric tons of stuff across state lines. It has been an interesting year or so. Alas, one of the events involved moving one of our huge Imperial display cabinets and after...

    Officers and Men series

Hi guys, When Mr, Cowe mentioned these to me, I told him that whatever he made would sell out, especially at the relatively cheap rate by which he prices his time. I also suggested that if he really doubted that the interest in such a set would be sufficient that he should offer to take...

    Whats up with Prices?

Welcome back Nathan and thanks for the excellent field report. Just getting my laptop back again after some minor hardware issues, now fixed. Absence makes the heart fonder, hopefully. Cheers, D

    Whats up with Prices?

As general information, these sets were first issued in 1989 (HS1) and 1990 (HS2). Original issue price for HS1 was $589.00 and for HS2 it was $621.00 According to Imperial Productions' records; 405 HS1 sets were made and 268 of the HS2 sets were produced. These numbers are for the original...

    Whats up with Prices?

Yeah, that is really stunning. On the other hand, recently, one of the most recent sets from Imperial, still in production even, sold on the bay for almost $300! There is no accounting for rationality on the bay Wow... that is an amazing price... assuming the top bidder does not welch. D

    Whats up with Prices?

Are you talking about the O&M carrier deck crew? Where did that sell for $500? Wow. On the other hand, when you consider how few of these were issued... 200 of each set, that is not too outrageous if someone is completing their collection or something. They made maybe twice as many of the...

    Imperial at the West Coaster

I think you are probably referring to the Dunedin Highland Rifle Volunteers, set no. 5. Those fellas have dark blue tunics and green tartan kilts. The South Australians are the guys in the white tunics and the glengarries.

Hi Mike! Great pics and thanks for the info. I wonder how many of us have our toy soldier collections accurately assessed (and listed on our insurance policies). Cheers, D

    Officers and Men series

Hey Imperial fans, Have spotted a few of these on ebay recently (including http://www.ebay.com/itm/IMPERIAL-PRODUCTIONS-PRESENT-DAY-CARRIER-DECK-CREW-SUPER-RARE-/140719279532?pt=Toy_Soldiers&hash=item20c385cdac ) and it got me to wondering... how many of our collectors here have any of these...

    Hi guys!

I really do love the idea of a collaborative effort. It is SO much easier to progress under a group motivation, buddy system type of thing. Also, the available resources here cannot be topped. Smart computer dudes, New Zealanders even... how could we go wrong? I have always envisioned two...

    Hi guys!

The Cowes have copies of my comprehensive list. It was amusing to hear his surprise at seeing how many different sets he had created. Once I got to know him, I came to realize that it is a result of his amazing humility. It somehow never occurred to him that anyone would appreciate his...

    Whats up with Prices?

My understanding of this phenomenon is that the Chinese are too blame. They are way richer now than they were in the 80's and 90's and thus, their demand for, and the price of, the raw materials used for making toy soldiers have sky rocketed. The only way to keep prices in line with what the...
