WIP on the two British soldiers. These are airfix hands and rifles. The hat is a german feldgmutze which I am converting into a soft tommy cap. These kinds of conversions take a lot of time and effort to get right. I also savour handling the excellent miniatures.

Working on Eug. Although most of the body and legs are covered by other figs, I like to get the proportions right.

I drilled and added wires to the heads and added putty to create torsos.

So I created a hill out of wire netting. Then plastered over it. Then added some long grass base work all over.

I decided to elongate the upper torso of the lead driver to heighten the sense of tension.

I added putty to Eug leg. Added putty to elongate the torsos of the altar boys.

I corralled my remaining stocks of German bodies to see if I can use them in this scene. If I keep sculpting my own bodies from putty and dont try to use them up, I will always have a hoard of gray army.....

I selected a lot of scalelink Yankee Doughboy heads as these have brims. To supplement my meagre Shenandoah Hawk heads.

I fooled around with Eug pose, finally decided to make him standing on one level. Also took out the altar boys behind and will elongate their torsos.

Reanimating Eug. The leg positions are hidden in the ptg so I reimagined hims as striding over one step down on the altar.

I shortened the rear hind left leg of this horse. Then added horse tails to all of the horses. My method is to drill and pin the tails to the bodies for strength.
