    Things that annoy me

Rare Snow Event in Australia The small town of Guyra, which is on top of the Great Dividing Range in Northern New South Wales made the news again recently, where record Snow of up to 50cm (20 inches) caused road closures and mayhem on the New England (NSW) Highway and other roads in the area...

News Update July 28th, 2025 - WWII German Armor

Pretty much, it would be interesting to hear why JJD haven't produced many WW2 tank crew, I heard a rumour that John Jenkins wasn't personally interested in WW2, but plenty of people are.

News Update July 28th, 2025 - WWII German Armor

Yes, it was some time back, but at least they did produce some WW2 tank crew figures. I did buy the Two JP cleaning figures but didn't get the guy with the umbrella, a bit weird imo. Yes that was disappointing they didn't release the Two Stug crew, and I haven't seen any of the figures that were...

    M113 comparisons with k&c

I prefer the K & C version as it's better detailed, but the opening features on the CS version adds some display opportunities.

    M113 comparisons with k&c

IMO there is a significant size difference between the Three manufacturers, The Collectors Showcase being the largest, then King & Country, to the smaller First Legion version. I wouldn't mix them in displays, however some collectors do, depends on the size of the figures you intend to use with...

    Things that annoy me

Don't forget vinyl front bench seats, great for date nights but could give you 3rd degree burns on hot Summer days, made worse when girls wore hotpants/Daisydukes and guys wore 'Stubbies' (a brand short shorts for guys in Australia).

News Update July 28th, 2025 - WWII German Armor

WOW....this new range will tempt me back into collecting JJD. I hope John will release some Figures. And what about some Allied Tanks etc to battle the Desert Fox? The success of a Series often depends upon the release of Adversaries to be used in Displays.

Ha ha....you guys, try Summer in Australia when the Earth is closest to the Sun mid January, it's like a 'sweat bath' downunder 🥵🥵

New Release In the second half of 2025

F Troop was such a fun show, 'Crazy Cat' was a cool name for a wacky Indian. BTW did you guys know that Wrangler Jane (Melody Patterson) was only 16 years old when the show started, Captain Parmenter would be 'cancelled' for that age gap these days ha ha. As for 'Combat', another great show for...

    Ice station zebra

Being an old Aussie I also have fond memories of the now classic movies from the 1970's, Waterloo and the Battle of Britain being stand outs to me. I recently watched the Battle of Britain on Netflix and the 'bloody flying goggles' scene was almost as horrific and impressive on my large tv...

    Battle for Arnhem....

Looks like that particular Moron has moved on, but suspect he will reappear under another name soon enough, it's what they do.

    BP42 Armoured Train

Good question, that looks like a modern repaint to me, and there's always the exception to the 'rule' where WW2 paint schemes are concerned.

Life is Good at the Beach

Hey Mike, I hope you enjoyed your week at the beach. Yesterday was our shortest day Downunder, I'm now looking forward to longer days and the end of Winter, hurry up 31st August.

    New Releases

Hi Arty, I actually do have a record on this forum as being more focused on scale and accuracy than most collectors having a long term interest in the technology of modern warfare and building scale kits etc. My main interest is in WW2 tanks, especially German, therefore I am more concerned...

    Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL

True, not many people actually like change or improvements, especially as we age. Toy Soldiers are a good 'constant' but even they are now very different from the original Glossy Toys Soldiers that people collected back in the day. That said, you can't avoid new technology, I'm looking forward...
