54 BRT 02-C Highland Infantry Centre Coy.

I really hope the Highland command set includes two flag poles so I can have two ensigns. I'll be interested to hear from the first collectors to get the set. Can't wait for American riflemen and British command!

    Exceptional work, Rupert!

    African American Union troops

You can also double your A Call to Arms USCT poses if you get one of their Iron Brigade sets and do some head swaps. I also plan on converting some Conte figures using African American heads I bought from All the King’s Men. Too bed Ken has closed up shop—it would probably be hard to track down...

The Battle of Saratoga, 1777 Previewed at MFCA, May 2018

MORGAN’S RIFLEMEN MORGAN’S RIFLES I'm not a John Jenkins collector, but this is one of my favorite sections of the forum to follow. This Saratoga line looks great, and the Morgan's Riflemen are some of the best of their kind that I've seen. I'm always in the market for American riflemen, and...

    Yorktown playlet character figures

Looks like I need to decide whether to go with the pre-sale figure set or the full playset. Any idea when there will be photos of the whole playset, or at least the redoubt? Just trying to figure out how long I have to decide.

Chintoys US Civil War Mounted Generals

Mine came last week. A couple of mine have an issue with the bases. I think you can see the same thing in General Custer's photos, especially the blue horses. At the parting line, the bottom of the base is uneven--one half is flat, the other is domed. At least one of my horses seems to have had...

Expeditionary Force War of 1812 Militia.

Definitely suitable for Alamo. Stephen Hardin writes, “The vast majority of Texian revolutionaries would have resembled Oliver Twist far more than Natty Bumppo.” I’m big on riflemen, but I’ve long needed guys in town clothes for 1812-1836. This set fills a big hole in the hobby.

    X-Force Future release

I was excited to see this pop up in my newsfeed today: an interview with Scott Lam of X-Force https://michtoy-from-the-front.blogspot.com/2018/01/meet-your-maker-scott-lam-of-xforce.html It includes news about a number of future releases. Most exciting for me are the photos of sculpts for 1812...

I still remember the original. Thanks to you, Mike, I just had to get all three figures for myself. :)

    Expeditionary Force French Napoleonic Cavalry

Someone might have answered this on the forum already, but are the new Xforce Napoleonics the same scale as their Civil War guys? They list both eras as 54mm (as opposed to their 60mm lines), but are they any bigger?

    New Chintoys ACW sets

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/7a/51/b1/7a51b1527930c26480793d242d7385a8.jpg Authentic as it is, Gano is a pretty eccentric choice. I personally would have preferred someone higher ranking, such as Braxton Bragg or Jeff Davis himself.

    Chintoys Sharpe's Rifle.

I have this set, too, as a tremendous Sharpe fan, but I'm not sure about a couple of the identities. I have positive IDs on Sharpe, Harper, Perkins (center, small with beat up shako), Harris, and Tongue. I suppose the far right pose (drawn sword bayonet) is Hagman, which would be a odd pose...

Teaching Art History with Treefrog Treasures

Just by way of an FYI: Many of the Sharps that went to Kansas and to the Harpers Ferry raiders were an early carbine model: http://www.nramuseum.com/guns/the-galleries/a-nation-asunder-1861-to-1865/case-14-union-carbines/john-brown-sharps-carbine.aspx Apparently, John Brown personally carried...
